I do believe it is changing. What is interesting, and something I didn't really address in my lengthy essay post..LOL..is the fact that older nurses are sometimes just as bad at perpetuating the "handmaiden". Moreso, I doubt they even realize that they are doing it!
Although I can't comment on your diagnostic abilities, I'll certainly agree with the "patients love you."
Awww...that was sweet. (blushes) That is one thing that really does intimidate me. It's one thing for me, as a nurse, to feel that I know what is going on with the patient and how we should treat it. It's quite another to be wholly responsible for the diagnosis and treatment!
