Sliders

Well, I got my DVD's in the mail yesterday. I took a chance and ordered them used from Amazon.com (and paid half!!!). Anyway, it has been great fun catching up on this "old" favorite. Earlier, I had mentioned that watching it was made even more fun by playing Spot the Stargate actor. Last night, I played a different game. Spot the Stargate locale. Or, I guess I should say, Spot the Vancouver location. 'Tis strange that this series predates gate but, somehow, in my little world it all comes back to gate. (wink, wink)

Anyway, I spotted at least 4 locations I had been to in the episode I watched last night called, Into the Mystic. Tis a fun ep where the sliders slide to a world taken over by the occult. Quinn had been shot in the episode before and, although he wasn't near death, the slide had reopened his gunshot wound and needed medical attention. Well, they took him to a doctor who turned out to be a witch doctor who cures his headache but does nothing for his wound but, in any case, Quinn feels better. The Doc's place is none other than the Sun Yat-Sen gardens from Maternal Instinct. So, when they can't pay the bill, Quinn gets sued and the papers are served by the Grim Reaper. Seems that the doc can have whatever body part he wants in exchange for nonpayment and he wants Quinn's brain. So now Quinn and the gang have demon bounty hunters after them. They are walking through town, which happens to be the Fantasy Gardens used in Revisions. They duck into a Gypsy's tent who tells them that their only hope is The Sorcerer. To get to The Sorcerer's castle, they have to traverse The Golden Gargoyle Gate bridge which is,can you take a guess, the Capilano Suspension Bridge! At some point in their trek, I also notice the totem poles from Stanley Park. I am sure there were other places that I didn't quite catch but it is fun to look for them.
