I have literally cleaned ALL MORNING just so I wouldn't feel guilty reading and goofing off for the rest of the day.

I'm crazy, like, whoa!!

gateslacker: (spnboysonTV)

It's not enough that I'm in carb DT's this week thanks to vacation last week.

No, it's that time of year where it's all I can do to not give in to my spoiler addiction.

(Also known as Comic-Con)

But spoilers really alter my enjoyment and, as much as I'd love to watch/read interviews, I. Must. Be. Strong.

Guess where [livejournal.com profile] de23 and I are going....

gateslacker: (spnbrothers)

Sam and Dean!!!!!

Later, We found Cas! (And another Dean)

Last night we came across a Samandriel. (Alfie)

But one of my favorites was today when I saw a Dean in his coach outfit from After School Special when he is posing as the gym coach. Those shorts! Unfortunately, it was too crowded to take a photo. Hopefully, I will come across her again later today

Fight the Fairies!

I should do a real update, but, the truth of it is work kind of consumes my social life (both online and offline)

Still, I can say this is applicable, too. I apologize that I don't know where I saw it. Will edit and credit if someone else does.

In other news, my costume is coming together as I've found a place where I can get a replica of The Ruby Knife!!!!! Awesomer and awesomer!

I just want to wish the Canadians on my f-list a Happy Canada Day.[livejournal.com profile] scarym1 I am wearing my shirt I got in Halifax last year to celebrate!

gateslacker: (spnboysonTV)

And yet, once Wednesday is complete, it will be back to hellatus again. The Horrors!!!

This hasn't been the best week for my Nielsen diary. Or maybe I don't watch as much TV as I thought I did or as it may seem to to anyone who actually reads my posts. Since last Thursday, I've only watched about 8 hrs of Television and I am sure that the Nielsen peeps do not care that 4 of those hours were spent finally watching the last few episodes of Fringe! That show has already ended for goodness sakes!

And I shift everything. EVERYTHING!! whether it be starting the latest SPN ep 15 minutes after it starts or months and months as is the case with several series hanging out on my DVR. They should really count Netflix as I spent one evening watching my latest Disc in the Gilmore Girls series.

As for Brandon's diary, he has watched no TV.

I'm really paying too much to my satellite provider, aren't I? But the DVR is totally worth it and I'm pretty addicted to the few shows I do watch.

gateslacker: (spnomgsam)

THAT. WAS. AWESOME!!! And now I am feeling a bit smug about my spoiler free speculation that was (maybe) right.

Birthday wishes and all the best for my dear friend [livejournal.com profile] de23!! Is it my imagination or are these things coming around faster and faster? Don't ask me how old you are as, apparently, I can't even keep up with my own age.

No, seriously, this week when I went to get the car insured a lady who works there (who was my Sunday school teacher) says with no small amount of shock, "you're FORTY FOUR!!!!!"

Now I'd like to think her shock was all "oh my gosh you are really 44. No Way!" But I suspect it was more "oh my gosh you are getting old! How old does this make me?"

If she's asked me that before MLK weekend I'd have been all, no I going to be 44 but since you all set me straight.......

Can it really be 10 more days till the next new episode of Supernatural? With the exception of re re re re watching the end of season 1 with [livejournal.com profile] de23I am totally needing my SPN fix (BTW, [livejournal.com profile] soniag we did it in preparation for a discussion of your feelings so, chop chop ;)

Oh, who am I kidding? I don't need any excuse to re re re re re re re re watch any of them.

My body seems to instinctively know that my little section of the world is beginning to tilt more towards the sun. It doesn't seem to matter that most of the week was still cold and rainy. I can just tell. My overall attitude and energy level has started to inexplicably improve. (I tell ya, it's like my brain and my body breathes this huge sigh of relief!) Maybe I should think about purchasing one of those lights for next year.

I've lost 2 lbs in 2 months. That's about the slowest thing ever but I guess I should be happy that it is still loss. And, apparently, hula hooping IS good for your waist cause I've lost an inch and a half in my waist during that same amount of time!

Brandon wants to go on a Senior trip with a group of friends to Panama City Beach after graduation. (I think the road trip to Canada is a bust) When I gave him the choice; England with me or Panama City Beach with a group of recently graduated seniors, he chose the Senior Trip. (Imagine that?) Of course, he would really like to do both. So, I'm torn between sticking to your choice/responsibly minded finances versus WTH, you only live once/might be the last family trip we do.

At the moment, I'm leaning toward throwing caution into the wind and letting him do both. It is senior year after all.

But, he's on his own with fixing the bumper of his car (he sideswiped Cody's backing out of the driveway.) Now, I can always tell when he pulls into the driveway (aside from the booming bass)

The people who make iPad and iPhone accessories are making a killing. These things are seriously overpriced Buuuuuut, my case has totally saved my phone a number of times when I dropped it on the concrete. If this job falls through, I'm going to work for Otter Box.

I honest to goodness bought a food processor to try my hand at making my own almond butter. What. The. Hell!?!

Thank you [livejournal.com profile] de23 for the surprise cookbook!!

Just so you know, Plato's Closet is quickly becoming my favorite place to shop. (What? What? What?.. What? I'm gonna pop some tags. Only got twenty dollars in my pocket....)

(Of course Brandon maintains that Plato's Closet, as a consignment store, is not the same as a Thrift Shop but, whatever, dude. Close enough)

Been thinking about my bucket list (now that I actually feel like changing out of my pajamas and leaving the house on my days off). I hit the parasailing, going to PEI last year. (and my first 5K) Going to England this year but I've really been thinking about other stuff I'd like to do that does not involve my job.

[livejournal.com profile] _leigh_leighI think it is safe to assume that running (non-stop!) for a 5K is not going to ever really happen. Yesterday, I hit upon the idea of taking actual, bone fide singing/voice lessons. Sure, I'm still a big fat chicken but, IDK, I think it might be nice to learn "how" to sing for realz. Of course I'm not exactly sure where I could do that semi-locally.....

I'll be thinking more about that list.

This evening I made the bacon and Brussels sprouts thing that [livejournal.com profile] de23 made at NAH, except I used different spices (top dish), more of those wonderful pumpkin bars (left) and the Berry Good Cobbler (right) from the Everyday Paleo book loaned to me by [livejournal.com profile] de23. However, instead of the cinnamon it called for, I went with apple pie spice.

Clearly, this is getting out of hand! I hope the Brussels sprouts and the cobbler freeze well. (I know the pumpkin bars do.)

Well, I've had no time to get all thinkie or even read all the thinkie I know is being posted out and about.

But, ya'll, I loved "Hunteri Heroici" like burning. And, oh my! Thickening plots. *eyeballs previous post where stuff is intimated*

Hum, indeed. There's all sorts of speculations and what ifs rolling around in my brain and its soooooo hard to watch this show in real time, now. And next weeks the mid season finale. Ack!

That's All Folks )

So. Much. LOVE!

Now, if they could have only incorporated my favorite line, "Dragons is so stupid".....

ETA: Okay, now that I have a free moment and I've been a bit more thinkie, I wanna talk about Sam some more!

My D*C ticket has been purchased and has already arrived. Then, today, I hear that Richard Dean Anderson has been added to the guest list! (thanks to a heads up from [livejournal.com profile] dm_lunsford)

Uh. Wow! That just tickles my little Stargate lovin' heart. (after all it is thefandom that started me down the fangirl road.)

I suspect I may have to rescind my no pictures, no autographs, no waiting in lines that wrap around the block, and no waiting in line for ages and ages thing I've had going the past few years.
