Scattered G = Bullets
May. 25th, 2011 01:56 pm- Monday night was a first as a tornado took off part of my Mom's roof!! She was home and thankfully no one was hurt but she said she sure hit the deck when she realized what was happening. And more severe weather is expected tonight. It seems to happen at night more often than not. (when you can't see anything).
- Okay, the cicadas are so loud I cannot hear myself think when I am outside. For a few days I thought that someone was doing some construction or running machinery nearby, the pervasive hum is so loud. Supposedly, this is a cyclical thing but I just don't remember it being so loud before.
- I took a page out of
de23 and
dm_lunsford book and did something productive today by going through my closet and drawers and boxing up anything I haven't worn in the past two years. I despise clutter but it seems almost impossible to keep it from happening. But, my house is relatively clean so that is as far as I am going today. - Wow, Kroger's 90 second red beans and rice package is pretty dang good. (Or it could be that I am just now eating today and am hungry) Admittedly, I don't have very refined tastes. (When I was a kid, a trip to McDonalds was a big deal so there you go.)
- Yay for Doctor Who starting us out last week with Muse's Supermassive Black Hole I have mixed feeling about the episode as in it didn't seem *that* interesting while I was watching but I was surprised when it was over because I had lost track of time while watching so I may have to reconsider my initial impression.
- I have been really slacking on the regular exercise thing even though I have been doing really well with the whole diet thing. Why can I not ever get it all together at the same time? Oh yeah, because I am a slacker.
- There haven't been too many Merlin filming photos/new lately since they are not filming at Pierrefonds at the moment. I'm suffering from withdrawal. Thankfully,
ella_bane gave me a bit of a fix HERE. - Sorry for the bullet fail but I am blaming it on lj editor wonkiness.

I actively disliked this ep of Doctor Who, so I was REALLY annoyed to find out it was a two-parter. Argh. Am I falling out of love with Who? How can this happen? *cries*

Date: 2011-05-25 10:10 pm (UTC)I wasn't a fan of this past episode either. In fact I haven't really loved any of them since the first two episodes :( I found this past one kind of boring to be honest, I was just waiting for it to be over...and then it was a 2 parter. Season 5 was (and remains) my favorite season so I'm disappointed Season 6 hasn't lived up to it...

Date: 2011-05-26 02:20 am (UTC)Eeep about your mom's roof. Glad no one was hurt.
Alas, I have yet to see last week's WHO, so I cannot comment.

Date: 2011-05-26 02:25 pm (UTC)Awwwwww, I hope not! Even favorite shows can get a bit spotty now and again. What about last week's ep? Did you enjoy it? I really liked that one. But, yeah, I was easily distracted during this one. Maybe it's just the two parter curse. Either the set-up is fantastic and the follow-up doesn't live up to it or the set-up is mind-numbingly dull and the follow-up makes up for it.
I'm hoping it is that.

Date: 2011-05-26 02:29 pm (UTC)Well, it has been a little hit or miss. Every other episode has been good for me since the opening two parter. I really liked last week's episode. So, I hope the second part of the two parter makes up for the first part. (Two parters are very often problematic with either one or the other part being a let-down)

Date: 2011-05-26 02:33 pm (UTC)I love lots of Rory but I felt he was a little forced. I don't know why, but I didn't really completely buy his devotion to the girl, though it is good to see him play hero. Perhaps there is a missing scene somewhere that, when added, makes his actions more believable.
Or maybe I was in a weird mood when I watched it. LOL!

Date: 2011-05-26 02:37 pm (UTC)I know!! They are so loud.
And, re: Mom's roof. It is wonderful how people come together during such times. You may hardly see or talk to your neighbors but within 20 minutes, about 15-20 people were there helping Mom and putting a tarp on her roof. Sometimes, I see way too much of the bad side of people so, stuff like this, makes me feel good about people again.

Date: 2011-05-26 02:40 pm (UTC)Well, I was sure glad last night wasn't as bad as they were predicting.
I liked lots of Rory, but I felt he was a bit forced in this one.
(I need me a Rory icon! Why have I not found me a Rory icon. One that says, "I LOVE Rory" There's bound to be one out there.)

Yeah you can keep the cicadas. You know how FOND I am of bugs!

LOL, I do that, too! I have yours and Mary's location programmed into my iPhone weather app.
Yeah, the cicadas are HUGE. I thought of you when I saw a few dead ones on my porch. My exact thought was, "Boy, M would just *love* that!"
