I'm also not so convinced that Sam just gave up. I can get the retiring from hunting, but not to look at all for his brother? No. I believe there is something more going on there that I hope is revealed quickly.
I feel there is more to this than meets the eye as well. I mean, they both obfuscated and deflected during their conversation; Dean, when he is talking about Cas and Sam, in letting Dean come to his own conclusions. However, I can also entertain the thought that Sam had hit the proverbial wall, both mentally and physically. And I can be okay with that IF they show how it played out.
Benny is definitely intriguing as is his relationship with Dean.
I am glad that I wasn't the only one confused about the meet-up at Rufus's cabin. It seemed that the meeting was pre-arranged but I just can't seem to figure out how it came about. And Sam didn't strike me as a person heading out to see his long lost brother, who could have been dead for all he knew. Sure, he's sneaking away in the dead of night, which can't be a positive thing, but he just does not have the look of a man who has learned that his brother is alive. Also, we are left to wonder if he's leaving the girl, and the dog, for good. Which I also found odd. She's awake and doesn't say anything. He is positively skulking about. Did he even tell her he is leaving? I am assuming that this is the girl that he "had something he'd never had before" but, is it? When he tells Dean that he had it and then he didn't, is he talking about her? I'm not sure as he really made it sound pretty past tense when he is talking to Dean and not, "I left her to come to you".
More obfuscation?
Yes, waiting a week will be TORTURE but if every episode makes me think thinkie thoughts and want to come on here and discuss like a mad woman, even though real life and work get in the way, it is going to be a GREAT season!!
