As to the UK nurse not giving drawing blood I have no idea of their training but I know that as radiographers we can take training to inject contrast etc otherwise we have to call on our department nursies to do it (and I dont mean that in a derogatry way but they are both ex paed nurses and very very nursie!) We tend to have phlabotalists or however you spell it to take blood.
