January has been whirlwind eventful with great times alternating with stressful crap that I will probably yammer on about later but not THIS POST

No, this is my feeling all smug post about how I feel responsible for turning [livejournal.com profile] de23, [livejournal.com profile] dombede, and, now, [livejournal.com profile] _leigh_leigh into Supernatural junkies. There's also Dr. Mac and her entire family as well but she's not on LJ. Heh, heh.

So, since I think I now have more than one friend who likes this show on my f-list, do you think I should create our own little community to talk about it or is that a bit redundant and our usual rambling way is just fine.

Let me know.

Anyone else on my f-list is welcome to become a SPN junkie at any time. Just sayin'

Oh, and "LARP and the Real Girl" was so hilariously, wonderfully, fantastic that I wanna talk about it, too. And "Torn and Frayed" and...and.....

But, Adorababy's first birthday is today and I've been called in for decorating duty.

A community might be nice - it's a little easier to to keep track of discussions that way. But no biggie either way!

I hope the party was fun. She is adorbs!

I am thinking about making the community but will wait and see what everyone else thinks. No sense in doing it if we aren't going to use it.

The birthday festivities were adorable. It made me reminisce about Brandon's first birthday, which is the only thing I have recorded from when he was little. Several years ago, I had the VHS tape recorded onto DVD. I don't watch it too often, mainly because it sort of hurts to watch it and I always end up blubbering like a baby. But, I was feeling pretty nostalgic after Averie's first and wanted to see it. Brandon was pretty steenkin' adorable, too, and seeing all the dead people made me cry, as expected.

Now, when I made this into a DVD, I didn't realize that I actually had other stuff on the VHS tape until I received the finished copy. Turns out I had recorded his birthday on a VHS tape that I had used to record TV shows, in this case an episode of ER. (Those people at the photo place must have thought I was totally ridiculous.) I never paid any attention to which episode I had recorded until today when I discovered that it was the episode Jared was in!! Naturally, I sat here and watched it. LOL!

(And you wondered how this long, meandering tale was SPN related.)

You think that qualifies as a Tale of Irony?

That's actually hilarious, about the ep with Jared! Not so much about the crying, obviously. I know what you mean - I plan to look through my box of DJ's stuff all the time, but I never do because it's too hard (still!).

Yeah, what are the odds out of all the ER episodes I could have recorded it would be the one with my current TV boyfriend?

But, about reminiscing (and I'm totally hijacking my own thread here). Like you said, it is hard (still!) and I had only watched it once before. Same goes for the DVD from my wedding. (Which I also went on to watch) I really need to sit Brandon down and show him these things.

Aside from the blubbering and even more dead people (I feel like Clark Griswold in the attic), it was pretty funny to see all of us and the other folks who came! I didn't realize that big hair and the mullet were still going pretty strong in 1993. Thankfully, the bridesmaids' dresses and the groomsmen's tuxes weren't totally horrific, unless you count the shoulder pads. We may be "middle aged" as [livejournal.com profile] dombedesays but we really haven't changed all that much. (Just the hair) At this particular moment, I think I am actually thinner than I was then. (hee!)

I'm afraid to ask what my hair was looking like then. I only remember being afraid of tripping over the hem of my dress.

Speaking of passing down things, my one and only first cousin sent me a note about how he's going to send us a bunch of my grandparent's stuff to pass down to the boys. I guess he's feeling old - he is in his 50's now that I think about it. My family is sadly shrinking thru time - my 2 are the only descendants of both my sets of grandparents.
