Thoughts

Well, I have to say it was a bit more plodding this week...the momentum was lost a bit but all in all some rather interesting developments. I was also rather disappointed that there wasn't a wee bit of fallout from Vala. After all, you would think having been burnt alive would cause a wee bit of distress. But, the Ori are rather scary. They have the same MO as the Goa'uld but waaaaaaay more power. I was absolutely horrified by what happened to poor Harrod and Sallis at the end! Yikes!!!I wonder if they were actually aware the whole time Daniel and Vala were in their bodies. If not, Double Yikes. And, when Daniel tells Jack he is scared, I believed it. I was a bit apprehensive as well.
I am feeling a fair amount of angst for poor Teal'c. This Garak character does not seem on the up and up. Teal'c gets branded a traitor, fights for freedom, and gets no respect in the end.
Loved seeing Jack although his "hungry" comment was a bit jarring! M, I can see what you are saying as I noticed it with that comment. Otherwise, I did love that scene as well as the scene with Mitchell.
It seems we have opened a can of worms........again.

I agree a bit that this particular ep didn't have as much of a paced feel as the first two. As for Vala's response, while I agree one would think she'd be majorly distressed, I also think it's pretty in character for her to not want to reveal that. On the other hand, I was a bit surprised we didn't get a bit more of Daniel showing some outward signs of concern. Yeah, yeah, we all know that Vala gets on his last nerve - but we also know how compassionate he is towards others. I realize he's a bit in over his head here, but still... considering he was fairly at the point of tears at the end of last week I would have liked to seen a wee bit more intimation of his lingering concern for Vala's well-being this week.

This new enemy is just creepy! I can't wait to see what develops.

Yep, don't really trust Garak. And Teal'c needs a hug in a bad way. ; )

I loved the scene between Daniel and Jack, even as it did remind me all over again how much I'm gonna miss that guy. Yes, I think Mitchell has added something to the team, and I've enjoyed his interactions with Daniel. But there will never be another combo like Daniel and Jack. Loved the bit about Daniel being afraid (and the fact that he wouldn't admit that to anyone else). But I think while Jack's "hungry" comment might have been jarring, it's also typical Jack. His best friend in the world has just admitted to some fear. He knows he's not going to be around to watch said best friend's back as they face this new enemy. Jack has to be having his own fears. But he's not gonna admit that - not even to Daniel. So, in typical form, he goes for levity and changes the subject. Daniel, in typical form, recognizes the comment for what it is. ; )

That too! LOL. You are right, the comment from Jack *is* quintessential Jack. Perhaps I have been reading too much fanfic ;-)

Other stuff I forgot to mention. The Ancients have been protected this galaxy all this time!!! Wow! That bunch are hard nuts to crack.

And, to be completely shallow for a moment because you knew it was coming. I am LOVIN' the beard. I very rarely love beards. What is up with that???

K and I had a good whinge on the phone about this ep and Jack's place in it. To put it mildly I'm disgusted, I won't put it as plainly as I feel but you know me well enough...

Personally I'm not interested in them rewriting the Ancient's storyline. Those guys have been a royal pain in the backside to SG-1 for three years. Suddenly we're supposed to think they were doing us a favor?

*shrugs* Whatever.

I do like Landry. I love his no nonsense approach. The way Jack should have been and wasn't in season eight. I agree about Teal'c and this new guy Gar'rak. And how cool was it to have Lou Gossett playing the part. He is terrific. Poor Mitchell. The man has some skeletons in his closet I'm sure. I am interested to see more of his character. I loved the comments about his grandma this week. He doesn't feel like a Jack replacement in any way for me. At least that's something.

I'm really not sure if I will make it until AT comes back. Sadly Gate is the show I look forward to the least on Friday nights. Gods I hate saying that :(

Awwwww. (((((Ruralstar))))) I know you hate saying that but don't give up hope yet! I am hoping you find something that is redeeming for you.

I have to say I am quite the opposite. Gate is the only show I *have* to see on Friday nights. The others can wait. And, for some reason, these first three episodes have given me a renewed obsessive zeal. I know, I know..you are thinking, "when did it ever wane???" LOL. Well, I didn't even realize it myself as I spend so much time in Gate related activities *cough* fanfic *cough* that it never dawned on me I wasn't actually watching the show as much as I used to. Thanks to season nine, I checked out the GW thread...something I haven't done in a looooooong time, rewatched some of last seasons eps and even found one I had never seen all the way through (Sacrifices, don't know quite how that happened) I haven't felt this level of excitement in a long time. But, you know me. I have always loved the ancient storyline and this whole Ori thing makes it even more intrigueing. It is actually reminding me a bit of the B5 Shadows/Vorlon thing although I won't say more because that would tamper with the unraveling of the whole mystery of B5 (and it isn't really the same rather a shade of similarity and I am going to shut up now.LOL!)

At least one thing is certain, we are rather consistent. Don't worry, I won't make any recommendations regarding books/TV/Movies to you...snort. Oh wait, Dead Zone kindof discounts that theory? I still need to watch this weeks ep. And I am rambling. I don't know why.

A better rec I never received. Even if it took about a year to sink in!

I still need to watch this weeks ep.

YES you do!
