My apologies to soniag but I am too lazy to come up with something new. You gotta love copy and paste....
I have been watching Farscape to get a sneak peak of Ben Browder. It's taken me almost that whole first season to be snagged but I am finally hooked! A large part of that is due to Crichton's endearing, fish-out-of-water quality. (Hummmmmm, what is with all the fishing metaphors ;-)) On initial viewing, BB seems to bring that quality to Gate. He isn't exactly Crichton and he doesn't seem to be an O'Neill wanna be for which I am grateful, but that endearing, gung ho quality is there nonetheless. Let's hope the writers keep it that way! I love him running around trying to get the team back together and his interaction with Teal'c in the passageway was quite funny! I also liked the way they introduced his past piece by piece instead of having one long flashback. However, either there is a major continuity error or Mitchell was really out of it for a long period of time. After all, we know that Jack was frozen in stasis for several months in Antarctica. Hummmmmmmmmmmm. (Yes, I am aware that I am way too into this show to notice something like that. I don't really care...LOL!!!)
Vala and Daniel were quite the pair as well...Snicker. I don't know why all the cries of "Fargate" as Vala's character is quite different from Aeryn on Farscape. Her outfit *was* reminiscent of Tokra Barbie's but with Vala's personality, you can actually see her wearing this. Her relationship with Daniel is going to be quite fun and I love how she loves yanking his chain.
Now, I enjoyed all that bit with Daniel trying to brief everyone on Arthurian mythology (and Landry's reaction to it..LOL) but, for heaven sakes, I wish he would slow down. Maybe he has been shut down so often in the past that he is bound (ummm...bound....sorry) and determined to say what he wants to say. However, it is distracting. Maybe they think the audience doesn't want to hear all that arthrobabble so they try to get it out rather quickly. For whatever reason, I wish MS would stop it.
Now, the biggest surprise for me was Beau Bridges. (All these BB initials is going to wreak havoc with my method of referring to the actors). I was really impressed with how he rather seamlessly fit in. Plus, I really liked Landry's character and LOL at he and Mitchell's first meeting.
I did miss Jack but, after watching this ep, my excitement for the new season only increased.
