Yesterday was a beautiful day. Temps in the 70's, sunny, breezy. The park beckoned. However, the only time I went outside was to head to church and the closest I came to enjoying the great weather was dragging the laptop to the dining table and opening all the windows to let the breeze in. I spent the lovely day typing. Today is going to be a repeat. (Looks longingly out of the window).

Well, at least I don't have to contend with a mother lode of mother guilt since Brandon is spending a few days with my brother. There is a bit of cat guilt going on, though, as she has her head draped over my left arm as I am typing this....LOL. I have to be careful when I pet her as I always forget to immediately wash my hands,  unintentionally touch my face, and then have to contend with my eyes swelling, burning, and itching. I have a wee bit of an allergy to the poor dear.

I have to be as productive today as I was yesterday with my 9 staight hours of typing/paper writing so I can have fun with Brandon tomorrow. We are going to see a movie and he has picked, as any 12 year old boy would, Blades of Glory. However, even I fully expect it to be a hoot and I can do mindless....as long as it's really funny. Actually, mindless sounds pretty good right now.

In any case, I do hope it doesn't take me nearly as long today to get done what I need getting done.

Two postings in one day! Who says I don't have any time? I managed to submit another assignment that I worked on all of the day and, once it was done, I just couldn't face a three hour quiz. I don't have any brain cells left and since the quiz is designed by the instructor from you know where, I didn't want to worsen my grade because I was tired. Of course, I HAVE to take it tomorrow and I am sure to be just as tired after a day at the movies and shopping.

I can't spend too much money since there is honestly some question over whether my employer can make payroll this week! Things are looking pretty dire on the old work front and there have been rumblings that the place will close. It's not surprising since 60% of our patients are self pay with most of our other patients having medicare or tenncare. Reimbursement just plain sucks on a good day! Other than the addition of yet more hats, nursing isn't as effected as other departments simply because we have barely enough folks to cover the shifts as it is! My current shift isn't likely to be cut as it has actually been beneficial in reducing overtime since if someone calls in, I am already there or can come in early. I don't want to work anywhere else, really, especially  as all the other hospitals are 30 miles away or more and starting over usually means back to nights. I am just going to stick with it and see what happens.
