scarym1's visit next week to spur me into action. Today I'm going to do a bit of planting. Sadly, It has been hit and miss for me on the landscaping front but I am going to try again. I purchased shrubs that were both cheap and, supposedly, could tolerate all sun and crappy soil conditions. That's my front yard to a "T".
I have to accomplish a great deal this week because next week is rather full. Monday, I have to take Brandon to Nashville to see a pediatric endocrinologist to see whether synthroid is in order. I feel a trip to a specialist is ridiculous but our Doc wanted her opinion because of Brandon's age about whether meds are indicated. I hope she does put him on meds, though Brandon doesn't want it. There is a great deal of controversy surrounding whether or not to treat subclinical hypothyroidism, which is the category he falls into by having a slight elevation in his TSH, but, let's face it, since he has the anti thyroid antibodies and the entire lot of us have to take medications, it's only a matter of time. Why wait till he feels like total crap to start it? In retrospect, sometimes he does seem more tired than a kid of his age should be but I just contributed it to laziness or growing. Maybe there IS more to it. Plus, there is the whole increased cholesterol and atherosclerosis that comes from untreated low thyroid.
It makes me wonder if I should have had medication when I was 12?
I haven't received my grades but I am aware that I did ace Advanced Patho. My motivations for wanting an A in that class were not very noble (sheer spite isn't the nicest motivator) but I'll take it. I should also receive an A in my other class though I'n not sure how the discussion postings will factor in so I'm not really counting my chickens before they hatch.
Now, I'm off to get my hands dirty........
