gateslacker: (beafraid)
I have the luxury this morning of being able to read posts and drink coffee. It has been quite enjoyable. Today will be another trip to the pool. (for some reason it never gets old).  I am looking out of the window and it appears that Sammie has a playmate who is not interested in that other "activity" as she is now fixed. She did very well and was running around the yard by the second day, probably jumping and doing things she shouldn't. However, her incision looks good and she acts like she feels good so wasn't too concerned. Poor Tiger, though, never leaves the house because she is afraid of Sammie. She just gazes longingly out  the window. Poor kitty.

Last night I watched Genesis of the Daleks. I did enjoy seeing how the Daleks originated but I did keep wondering about the aversion to the mutos while Davros, who really did look like a mutant, ran the planet. It was never really explained. I had never seen any episodes with Sarah Jane and I could see why she is a fan favorite. My watching is so spotty mainly because it is difficult to establish any sort of watch order with what is available on Netflix, other than "must watch" fan lists and episode dates. Plus, the sheer amount of episodes makes watching every episode improbable and I would like to see the "pivotal" episodes, hence the fan must watch lists. I think I would like to see how the Doctor meets Sarah Jane. I also think I skipped a couple of Doctors since I jumped from William Hartnell to Tom Baker. The first episode I watched with Tom Baker involved a light house and a green blob entity that was killing everyone and when the blob entity was chasing (chase being a very optimistic description..LOL) them in its natural form, I kept laughing and thinking, somehow, about the Red Dwarf monster created from Lister's curry and how Lager is "the only thing that will kill a vindaloo". It was the chase scene, you see.  Anyhoo, in the Lighthouse episode (Horror? Terror? at Fang Rock...sounds like a Nancy Drew title, doesn't it?) there was a different companion. I'm not sure if she was originally from Earth, though. I enjoyed Genesis of the Deleks much better. I'd have to go back and see but, when the Doctor is telling Davros about Dalek defeats, he mentions the year 2000 and something about the Earth's core and I wondered if they had that play out during one of the encounters in the new series. Even though I have seen all of the new series, I have only watched once and that may not be something I picked up on. Speaking of the new series, I am enjoying Donna way more than I thought I would and more than I did Martha Jones. I guess I didn't realize it until we had Donna and Martha in the same episode. I loved that bit in the last ep where they think the Doctor perished and, when he turns up, Martha hugs him and Donna thwacks him. ROFL!! I also loved the bit where they are trying to get gramps out of the toxic car and the Doctor is doing all sorts of jumping about trying different things and Donna's Mom finally comes out and smashes out the window. Who else besides me never thought of that either? I think that is what make it even funnier for me LOL!!  I do hope there is an episode where the Doctor takes gramps on an adventure. I wanted them to take him with them this time! Of course all those Rose bits are so tantalizing!
