Okay, so I am having a DUNE flashback though I don't know why as I haven't watched nor read it in ages and ages....LOL. Have I ever been busy!

I had a wonderful time last week with [profile] de23 and [profile] dm_lunsford for our little get together. We watched, count em' , ELEVEN Gate episodes all in [profile] dm_lunsford's suitably themed living room. We managed to get through the end of season six and, once there, you are naturally inclined to watch the first two eps of season seven. Duh....They just go together...Hello?....LOL! The next morning we headed to Nashville and The Frist for the Ancient Egyptian Exhibit which was terrific. At one point, I was struck by the fact that I was seeing objects up close that I had only seen before in pictures. I was also amazed at the complete reconstruction of the tomb of Thutmose III and the detail that went into that! Unfortunately, pictures weren't allowed so there be none here.

My work weekend was really busy and we were shortstaffed to boot. I got through it with the knowledge that I was soon to be ON VACATION. Sunday am I was counting the hours.  Later that day, it was very nice to meet up again with [profile] de23 and [personal profile] soniag for lunch at The Riverfront Plantation Inn. Now I know this is practically in my backyard but I had never been there. Brandon commented that it was very "fancy" and that we were more "The Log Cabin and Subway  types". Of course he is right but I told him that it is good to branch out once in awhile...expand your horizons so to speak...LOL.

Most of today we spent at the pool because, really, we have to go at least once a week and prefer to go more. DeAnne's sprog was having a pool party. Must be nice to be born in July! I think all of the kids had a great time. Now, I must really get to packing and laundry if I hope to be packed for my trip to Toronto Trek on Friday. I am so excited!! [profile] scarym1 has all sorts of plans. I am fortunate to have friends who are really good event planners.

I'm glad you were able to make the brunch with Sonia at the plantation.

Did Brandon enjoy camp?

And do have a blast in TO and visiting Mary. Remember, we want reports - with ALL the juicy details - when you get back. ; )

Did Brandon enjoy camp?

Yes! He had a terrific time and I am sure he will want to go next year.

As for a report, I am sure hoping I do a better job in writing one than I did last go round. I should really take some notes...LOL!

If I ever get down there I would love to see this Inn and the battlefield. I'm not crazy for the Civil War but it looks like a very cool place. Amazing what we all can find in our own backyards.

I hope you and M have a wonderful time next weekend at the con. Can't wait to hear all about it. We need to have a call when you've finally landed back on earth from all your activities! Just an FYI, K will be in Orlando all next week for a seminar.

((((((hugs)))))

Yes, I have been busy but when I do come on here, I have looked for K. I thought she was getting DSL and that all the computer issues were resolved.

I hope you guys do manage to come for a visit...someday. (Sigh) After next week I will be able to say that I have visited just about everyone on my f-list except those UK folks and I certainly would love to get over there at some point.

K's computer crapped out completely a little over a week ago. She's trying to get it fixed by a friend but I think she may have to bite the bullet and buy a new one this time. We'll see.

I want to get down there to see you. I haven't given up!
