bits and bobs

I have been extremely productive of late. Mary's visit spurred me into action and I managed to get quite a bit of yard work done last week as well as painted the spare bedroom/home office. I was so sore that I had to go back to work to recover! In the end, I am really pleased with the paint job, even if the darker color required two coats of paint. It is as dark as I have ever gone with paint and I am LOVING it.

Brandon's appt went well yesterday though I really find it ridiculous that we had to go to Nashville. We saw a Nurse Practitioner (cool!) and he ordered more labs and placed Brandon on Levoxyl. Brandon went around saying that he was going to have to take "the pill". Poor dear doesn't realize that "the pill" can only refer to contraceptives but we really haven't gotten that far in our Car Series: Facts of Life Conversations. (Though I did have to explain what an erection was after him reading a Levitra advert on the wall in the doctor's office. After I explained it, he noted with amazement that we had had such a conversation in a place other than our car.) I just told him not to go to school saying that.he was on "the pill".  He goes back in a month for repeat labs. I talked with the provider and he doesn't see any problem with transferring back to our PCP once Brandon gets regulated.

Sis went with me and afterwards we went out for lunch, stopped at Lowe's (I needed a border for the newly painted room which I put up this am), and Kroger. We had a great time as it has been ages since we've been shopping together, even if it was a mundane shopping trip and not a fun one. Her school schedule and my work/school schedule has prevented any outings other than local ones. Abby was a sweetheart the entire day. I don't even think she cried one time.

Tonight, I have a class at church for The Truth Project. I missed one last week due to the band concert. Isn't it strange that everything always seems to fall on the same days?

And Mary comes tomorrow....Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!

Wow, you really have been productive.

Very cool about Brandon appt. and too funny about the car conversations. I've had a few with the girls. R getting a dose of future most of the time because she's sitting there LOL. Adolescence is rushing headlong. Duck!

Enjoy your time with Mary. Pictures and posts please!

mhm...last night I was bored and decided to paint inside the pantry. so its color coordinated with the new flashy Papaya on the kitchen walls. this morning...the guy is here to finish laying my new floor in the kitchen and entry way.

say hi and give Mary a huge hug from me.

Bless Brandon - that kind of innocence is a precious thing in this day and age. Have a great time with Mary!
