The Slacker

Well, while all of you overachievers out there are getting it together spiritually or making intellectual strides or riding mountain bikes or writing the great American Novel, this slacker here will simply have none of that. Why nosireebob!  Nothing great and exciting new here either. I am still behind at work and working the floor yesterday made me wonder why on earth I ever got onto the paper train. Sheesh. I did have a small bit of excitement yesterday when this little 99 year old woman in a wheelchair took the cover off an air conditioner and tried to knock out the window with it. Yep, that surely gave me a chuckle.

After work, I actually did work on the never ending saga that is my laundry, but that is beside the point. While doing so, I rediscovered one of my favorite series, Sliders. I recorded a bunch when sci-fi had a mini marathon. Of course, I was playing the "spot the stargate actor" (I didn't realize that Gary Jones had a reoccuring role) and also spotting some small similarities, such as Quinn's cat being named Shroedinger. This show was alot of fun before the scifi channel destroyed it. But, since they took on Stargate, I have found it in my heart to forgive them!

Reading the news over on Gateworld, I was saddened to see RDA's departure in writing. And then I thought, why on earth are they sending Pileggi to Atlantis. I would rather see him on Gate. I do have some reservations about Beau Bridges but it will be nice to see Lou Gossett, Jr. Last time he was on a sci-fi series was in the eighties with The Powers of Matthew Star, which I adored and it was cancelled. Naturally! Oh the frustration of being a sci-fi fan...LOL!

Well, I am off to my great and lofty goal of watching all the recorded HGTV stuff. You all should aspire to my level of greatness ;-)

The Powers of Matthew Star

Omigosh I loved this show! I barely remember anything about it, but I was quite the budding fangirl. How old were we then?

I'm holding on to hope that RDA will do some super cool guest appearances. (Like, in Carter's bed . . . kidding . . . not!)

ROTFL, we can but hope! As for The Powers of Mathew Star, well you guys are only a year older than I and I think I was about 13 at the time. My how time flies.

You liked it too! It was the first show that I would get butterflies over in anticipation. I remember I thought Peter Barton was yum, yum and when he used his powers! THUNK! But, I don't remember how old we were. I do know this was before my Kyle Mclachlan/Dune phase though.

I am really holding out hope that RDA will do some guest stints.

There isn't a ful article, Mal. The one on GW says that Jack has been promoted and replaced, it's more of an assumption. Though my guess is that it's an accurate one since there has been nothing to the contrary.

*snickers* Love your subject line. Personally I'm looking forward to a bit of slack time, I'm exhausted after running for the last three days LOL.

I loved The Powers of Mathew Star and I had totally forgotten that Lou Gossett was on there. As for RDA's departure...well I'm not surprised and I'm sure you aren't either. From the sounds of things the door is open for him to guest star. I hope he decides to come on at least once and for a significant amount of time...

Yes hope springs eternal.

Hope you enjoyed your viewing. LOL on the old lady, too funny.
