Nov. 18th, 2007 01:43 pm It has been a beautiful weekend here and I did manage a walk yesterday and felt my usual stamina as opposed to the feeling of walking in sand up to my neck that I have experienced over the past few weeks. (My knees, hips, and shoulders are still making their general laziness known but it wasn't as bad.) Unfortunately the stupid time change has made finding time more difficult for me. Today is no exception as we have much on the agenda at church. There is a wedding today and I was asked to do the sound last night during the rehearsal. (Brandon and I were at the church getting our picture taken for a fundraiser.) They had no one else and, while I attend weddings at the same rate I attend funerals, that is to say only if I have to, I felt like being generous with my time. Plus, the bride is distantly related to me. Then, there will be play practice this evening after which our church is hosting the community Thanksgiving service. After that there will be food because, really, how can one have a church gathering without food?
Anyway, it has been a great day for all this activity with sunny, blue skies and temps in the low 70's.
Last night Brandon and I watched Blades of Glory again and I do believe I laughed more this go round than when we saw it at the theater. I don't know if there are too many on my f-list who watch these sorts of movies but I tell you, the whole thing is absolutely hysterical, from start to finish. I do believe it has one of the funniest foot chase scenes I have EVER seen. Really, I know that I am exposed to this sort of movie by having a 13 year old son and by being the type of person who enjoys many different forms of humor , but I still highly recommend it if you want to laugh. Alot.
Not so laughworthy is the fact that my desktop is dying a slow and painful death. Really, I think the spyware and antiviris companies have mechanisms in place that, as soon as you don't renew something quickly(I renewed the antivirus but haven't got to the antispyware software, yet) the deluge is immediate. How consipiracy theorist is that? I certainly do have those leanings. I can surf the net, albeit slowly, and access Itunes but any type of accessing other documents is highly laborious as you have to constantly use the task manager to open windows explorer. Even so, the whole thing blinks out regularly, leaving only my desktop background. I know how to do a great deal with computers but fixing a problem is not one of my strong suits. I have no idea what to do, if there is anything I can do. Suggestions would be helpful is any of you have any. At this rate I need to get some stuff off there as that computer houses the bulk of my music and episodes, in addition to 1Click DVD ripper, which I also need to install on the laptop. Once I do this I may try to recover the whole thing. I just didn't want to lose all I had.
I enjoyed Seer immensely but was, once again, observant of the fact that Sam seemingly has no scientific knowledge to contribute, even when it would be entirely appropriate for her to do so. I do realize that they are doing this to establish her as leader Sam and not have too much crossover with McKay and I don't really know why it irks me. I did enjoy her interaction with Woolsey and I do like Sam as leader of Atlantis. Even with the few episodes in which we have seen her, she not only has more leadership presence than Wier ever did, she seems to be able to convey the turmoil that comes with making these decisions more tanglibly (IMHO). It may merely be due to the fact that I feel that I "know" Sam better. In a totally unrelated note, I have been trying to see all the pics in her office...LOL!
