Interesting observation about the Alterans and Ori from the backstory. I hadn't even made the connection about seeing them in mortal form and being told they were at odds with the Ori. Hmmmm...
Also like what you said about Daniel. I wonder if the 'settledness' has something to do with MS being away from the character for a short time as much as it might any intent on his or the director's part. Then again, I think maybe Daniel had just reached a point where he knew time was running out. A sort of steeled resolve, as it were, fueled by his "visions" from Merlin.
I think I've decided that I both love and hate that scene with the Doci. I mean, it's such a powerful scene... but both times I've seen it now I find myself being just a little irked that NO ONE is even acknowledging the Doci as he cowers on the floor weeping. They just carry on this conversation about irony. Okay, at least Tomin spared him a glance - he knows something of what the Doci is feeling at that moment - but it still irked me. Couldn't someone have at least wandered over and put a hand on the poor dude's shoulder?
