gateslacker: (need coffee)

Yesterday, I took the day off from school and just read books..and not the textbook variety, either. I'm so gonna pay for that today. I was also wondering if anyone else is watching Sanctuary. I am enjoying the show but didn't think I was really that caught up in it until I missed the last minute of this week's episode. Now, I just really need to know what happened during that last minute, dangit. I tried to DVR it again, adding extra minutes, but something went wrong with that recording too. Will was in the subway talking to the friend who had "loaned" him the info from the Austin case. Overall, I like this show. It has a Torchwood feel with more interesting villains. (Well, more interesting than the Weevils in any case)  However, the characters still need a bit more work and I am looking forward to seeing where that goes.

I'm enjoying Sanctuary. I'm not crazy obsessed about it, yet, but I could see myself getting there.

You didn't really miss much. Just a little growth moment for Dr. Z.

I'm watching and enjoying the show. It hasn't completely sucked me in but it is growing on me. I'm still in that phase where I'm more amused by seeing which former SG actors I can recognize than anything else, but as we learn more about the characters I'm able to invest more in them.

I know the spfx is all the rage of this show, but for the most part it's not something I think about at all when watching. Truth be told, I'd rather not think about it, because then it sucks me out of the moment. But there have been some nice fight choreography moments. This is AT in a kick-butt mode we haven't quite seen before. ; )

Now, if I can just stop "seeing" Daniel in nearly everything Will does and says... ; )

Thanks, it was driving me batty. Care to elaborate? (Is this a sign that I am on my way to being obsessed?)

I don't think about the spfx either. I don't want to be hit over the head with it. I prefer that it be as unobtrusive as possible. Sure, there are some scenes where I realize that it is an effect and I reflect briefly on the coolness of it. But you are right. It can take you out of the moment.

As for Will, initially I was getting those Daniel vibes but now I am more often struck by the Harry Potter resemblence, especially the eyes.

Well, the cop friend asks him if he solved the case. Dr. Z says that he wasn't able to get anywhere. So the cop remarks how sad it was that Dr. Z was never able to catch a break because he was a brilliant agent.

Dr. Z says something to the effect that sometimes life takes you to a different place than you expected, but he was okay with that. And as he's walking away, he smiles.

Thanks! It was a good bookend to the episode, especially after his feeling that he totally got it all wrong.
