Anyone else on my f-list watching this? I don't have starz (or whatever it is airing on) but I do have netflix and have been able to stream it via the instant queue. Of course I don't remember all if the details of the book (and isn't it amazing how I can forget way more than I can remember..even with something I have read as an adult) so I don't even know how true it is to the novel. Still, I've been glued to the screen. Plus, it has Rufus Sewell looking better than ever so there's that!

I was watching it but I was getting confused about things. I think I'll let it get further along and then watch them all at one go.

I vaguely recall hearing of this once upon a time but more or less forgot about it because, one, I don't get Starz either and two, I'd never read the book so had no idea what it was really about. Well, and I also had a sneaking fear that with it being made to debut on Starz that it would be all sex galore (or at least way more than I care to see when watching a good drama). But you'll have to keep us informed. If it's a good one, I may have to add it to the 'watch someday' list. ;)

I don't have Starz either but I have been downloading the series. I haven't had time to watch any of it yet. Must get my act together. Good that you're enjoying it. I've been meaning to read the book but haven't had a chance for that either!

I was a bit confused during the first episode because of all of the different characters and storylines but since then have been able to gradually follow the story. Maybe my subconscious brain remembers more details than my conscious brain realizes.

And there is a Merlin connection with Sarah Parish as Lady Regan Hamleigh. (and a bit of a manipulative troll here, too..LOL) I kept thinking how familiar she looked and it took me awhile to figure it out.

Well, there have been a few explicit scenes but I wouldn't necessarily call it "sex galore" just yet. I had forgotten just how convoluted but connected it all really was.

I know the feeling. There are numerous to do piles all around and with my summer off speeding rapidly toward its end, I feel a panic to read (or finish) several novels, which I likely would have already finished if not for my guilty pleasure, fanfiction!

Went back through your lj to dig up this post. Did you ever finish the series? Hubs and I watched the first two hours this morning and we're hooked. Now I REALLY want to read the book. Very complex storyline and the look and feel reminds me of Rome. What's not to like!

Oh yes! I did finish the series and thought it was fantastic. I thought about re-reading the book after watching because there were so many details I forgot. Then I thought, "who am I kidding?"

We finished the series today. Very well done. So delightfully complex and visually stunning. Hopefully I can find time for the book in the near future.
