Can you tell I have a huge case of the doldrums. It's been one of those weeks where all I seem to do is work and nothing interests me or excites me. BORING! That pretty much sums up my dreary existence this week. Perhaps it is the weather. Perhaps it is one of the few times I am actually in touch with my reality. Whatever.

Anyway, the only thing I have found remotely interesting and entertaining this week is an episode of Scrubs that I caught over at my Mom's house. I actually laughed!  Why don't I watch this show more often? (well I actually laughed a little before that with an episode of "greatest game show moments" or whatever it was called where a clip was shown re: The Dating Game. The woman asks a contestant, "How do you spell relief" and he answers F-A-R-T.)

The next interesting thing is my new fascination with Ritchie on Highlander. When I watched the show years ago, I came in at the end of the fourth season (I think) and I thought, "what is his purpose...would someone tell me what he is doing here." I was way more interested in Duncan and Methos. Now that I have been able to watch from the beginning, I actually really love this character and felt inclined to to skip around to all the Ritchie eps to find out where he "became" immortal, when he had his first quickening, etc. That ep where he has no choice but to take the head of poor Mikey (and then Mikey places his own head on the railroad tracks....with a train coming!).....SOB!!

Then, I remembered something else about Ritchie. He dies!!!

Bummer!

I did read some more of Northern Lights or The Amber Spyglass or whatever it is called but have as yet to participate in the whole "book report" thing. Cool idea but I have nothing remotely interesting to say so there you go.

Ooh, another Richie flag waver is born. While I never found Richie wonderfully appealing, I thought he was a good character and certainly wasn't anti-Richie (as many in fandom were). And yes, it's very sad when he dies, as, given the circumstances, Duncan couldn't avenge him. ;-)

I always liked the Anne character, and many were against her also.

What's been your favorite ep so far?

I'm sure my 'book reports' aren't exactly thrilling, but they are sort of fun to write. So come on, give it a try when the next doldrum hits.

Hummm....I'll have to get back to you on the favorite ep. I did like Prodical Son. I have skipped around in search of significant Ritchie eps and am only now getting back to season one and watching in order. Of course, since Brandon loves this show I have to wait till we both can watch. (So no watching any more episodes after he goes to bed)

And I ordered season five on DVD!

Goodness, it's been so long since I watched any Highlander I'm drawing blanks on the eps, even after I look up the synopsis. I think I remember Prodigal Son, but I can't remember if I was particularly taken with it or not. Anyway, I'm glad you (and Brandon) are enjoying them.
