Color me impressed!

 So, yeah, I read alot of fanfic and when I am reading fanfic, I invariably encounter crossover fic. If it is done right, I usually love it because I really like to see how the author brings two different universes together. It is even better if I am a total fangirl for each of the "universes" because I really love seeing how beloved characters react to one another. I know it isn't everyone's cup of tea *cough* scarym1 *cough*

Now, I've read all sorts of Stargate crossover fic and I've read all sorts of Merlin crossover fic but one thing I rarely encounter is Stargate/Merlin crossover fic. I think I have only read one and that involved SG-1 waking up a young Merlin in stasis instead of an old Merlin in stasis. (You know, during The Quest (parts one and two) where SG-1 and Adria are racing against each other to find Merlin's anti-Ori weapon, the Sangraal). Needless to say, that crossover was very short because we all know what happens once they awaken Merlin from Stasis. (Well Stargate fans do, anyway).

So, yeah, not a great deal of Gate/Merlin crossover going on. However, today, I happened upon a really cool crossover vid! I haven't been watching a great many Merlin vids partly because I am jealous that I no longer have the time to really start that hobby up again and partly because I probably spend too much time reading fanfic when i could (should!) be doing other things and I certainly don't need yet another time suck.

 

Since this is a rare crossover vid and I think the editing was amazing and so cleverly done, I feel that I must share. Plus, it's got all my beloved characters in one place! (I also think it could really make for a wonderful fanfic, just sayin')

I know!! I can't stop watching it. It plays like a movie trailer and makes me want to see this movie. LOL!!

That WAS impressive! Although I've not watched Merlin, they worked the clips together so well in this vid that I never really felt jarred from one fandom to the other. It was like it was all one show. Very well done!

LOL. Yes, I keep trying to make the crossover happen in real life too. I want to entice my Merlin friends to watch Stargate and my Stargate friends to watch Merlin but have been mostly unsuccessful thus far.

Cool! If anything can entice someone to try something new, it would be a great vid. It has definitely worked where music is concerned. Why not a show as well?

I can't seem to stop watching it and every time I'm like, "that is sooo cool!"

It certainly makes me want to watch more Merlin as well as undertake a massive Stargate rewatch. But, oh my, I am already on a Farscape rewatch..LOL.

Problem is that my viewing time takes away from my reading time so I'm pretty selective about what I watch. I'd really rather read than watch! However, if someone wrote this crossover, I'd read it for sure.

Wow, that was great. I loved it, even though I don't want Stargate, it was a real storyline. Loved the way the person melded them together.

LOL! Well, if you ever want to watch another great show at some point in the future, I'd suggest Stargate. On the down side, it might lead you to reading more fanfic (it was the show that started my fanfiction addiction) and it does have 10 seasons, 2 DVD movies, and two spin-offs so becoming involved might take up a fair amount of time. (Not to mention the original movie that started it all)

On the plus side, SG-1 did not end on a cliffhanger, which is always something I take in to consideration when I am contemplating watching a series that has come before.
