So, I am finally getting caught up with SGU. It has been bittersweet because it is the end of an era and these past 8 eps I have watched have been absolutely phenomenal and remind me that this show was cancelled way before its time ( even though, yeah, I know Gate had a tremendously long run.) But I think Descent and Epilogue, especially, have broken my heart!!! (I can barely see the screen through my tears!) I would even venture that these two episodes are the BEST Stargate eps out of the ENTIRE franchise and Epilogue probably rates up there with the best of the best stories EVER.

So I must say it again.

STUPID SYFY POOPEYHEADS!!!!!

I still have the last two episodes of Stargate ever left to watch and don't wanna. Then, it really will be over. :(

((((HUGS))))

Descent & Epilogue was amazing. I loved seeing the lives the Alternative Crew had. Poor T.J. I love Greer & Park. Eli having a school named after him.

It was cool that this alternative crew came out of the event of Twin Destinies.

The last ten eps were, indeed, some amazing television. I'm sorry that it went down like this. We could have been enjoying one of the best shows on television if it kept this trajectory.

Yeah. You're just going to keep crying. Sorry!

Yes, it was sad watching the last two, though not as heartbreaking as Descent and Epilogue. That last scene with Eli was a perfect scene to end on, though.

And, it didn't leave us hanging quite so badly, though I would love to see how the story ends.

You know, with all the Stargate book tie-ins out there I don't know why they don't finish SGU with a novel so at least the story does have a proper ending.

I, for one, would have liked to know where the drones came from, why the blue aliens were so interested in Destiny, whether any of the alternate descendants survived the drones, and whether Eli figures out how to repair the broken stasis pod. And that is just a few of the mysteries off the top of my head. I am sure I could come up with many more if given the time to consider it.

Of course, I can easily assume he does since, surely, he would have been back if there had been a third season.

Yes, sadly. I think their idea of change and more concentration on the characters was a good one. I just think that, perhaps, the first season of SGU was almost too many characters with too slow a build. And then there's the fact that when SyFy wants to kill a show to make room for a new show, they know exactly how to do it.

Still, these last 10 episodes of the entire series were wonderful and that makes it even harder. If they had been total crap, I would have just been sad that Gate was over but now there are stories I would have liked to know the conclusion of.

I did love Descent and Epilogue. Stellar work from the writers on down. It's hard to believe it's all over. I wasn't ready to say good-bye either.

Yeah, if the stories had been crap, I would be sad that Gate is over but already kindof over it since SG-1 and Atlantis have already ended their runs.

I really would love to see a novelization of the conclusion of the story. I don't know why they don't at least do that as DVD movies are off the table. I am sure it is due to needing to move on/find new work and that writing for a TV show is totally different from writing a novel for publication (at least I assume this to be the case..not that I know any of this first hand)

Still......

I know writers in the Star Trek world have made the leap from script writing to novels and back again. Different format yes but you are still telling a cohesive story. Maybe someone will pick up the SGU ball in novel form. We can always hope.
