I know! When I started filming De and I just trying to get through the Marriott, I thought it would be more impressive. However, I did a fair amount of editing and felt that the bumper to bumper people with nothing of real interest to see would be a bit boring for vid purposes.
And, the camera takes AWESOME vids and pics. The only problem was when I asked someone else to take the picture and they don't know the camera. Of course, the zombies heading to zombie prom was on my iPhone and that wasn't too shabby, either. (sans my finger in the way, of course)
Thanks for the permission. I won't be tagging or identifying anyone personally, anywhere.
Oh, and your icon! The Hat!! You recognize that your handiwork featured heavily in the vid!
Yes, and I agree with the love! The zoom was good, too. I wasn't very close in the Sanctuary panel and I thought those pics weren't too bad. Of course, the lighting in these panels is total crap and I think only a massive camera setup takes the best shots. However, I think you'd come pretty dang close with a zoom or wide angle on this camera (but I know from experience it is a pain to lug all that around.)
Again, it is a compromise between portability and function and this camera wins, hands down. Thanks for leading me to it via all your wonderful travel photos!
Awww, this is so great! I love that I spied a few of the people I saw on Friday in your video before I even got a chance to meet you! Dragon Con is a big and small world, haha!
Awww, thanks! I know what you mean. It is cool to think we passed one another several times before we ever met. With so many people, I was also amazed at the frequency in which I happened upon people I knew without coordinating a meet-up via texting.
Very cool! I love it! (except the one pic of me with my eyes closed) You got some really good shots of the SG and Sanctuary folks. And I love you in the hat!
Feel free to share as far as I'm concerned. You don't mind me sharing it with some of my friends, do you? Also, could you send me your pics of me as Parker? I somehow failed to get even a single of shot of me that day with my camera.
Yes, the Hat certainly featured heavily, didn't it? And I don't mind you sharing. I'll get it up to FB this evening since I have had no objections.
I can send you Parker pics or I can upload. I thought about trying Flickr out but, good grief, how many photo repositories does one person need. I'm not a real fan of the Photobucket layout but it does make them easier to share on here, if you choose. I love Shutterfly's album layout and project choices but it isn't the best for sharing. Maybe Flickr will be somewhere in between. Still, I shouldn't have to upload to three sites!
However, with the upcoming weekend fun times, I likely won't get any uploaded till next week. Just let me know what you prefer. Also, is it still the plan to pick you up after work tomorrow and head out?
The song is "Supermassive Black Hole" by Muse (my second favorite band!)
I do have tons more from the panels that I should upload at some point. Of course, I was relatively close in the SGU panel but not so much the Sanctuary panel. Plus, trying to get the lighting right in some of those panels is a pain (and I didn't want to spend the entire panel fiddling with camera settings even if I did want the practice, which is why there are so many pics) I ended up going back and forth between the intelligent auto setting and another setting I customized. Of course, if I knew a wee bit more about photography, it wouldn't be such a trial and error, shot in the dark sort of thing. So many time consuming hobbies. So little time!
