First of all, I want to wish a fantastic birthday to [livejournal.com profile] ruralstar. I hope your day has been supremely wonderful!

For the rest of the folks on my f-list, I want to wish you a Happy Easter!

I hate it when I go ages without posting because then I feel like I need to talk about everything which seems overwhelming and too much like work and who cares, right? So, I thought I'd break it down into bits.

Work:

Is going swimmingly. I love it more than I thought I would and I haven't killed anyone. (Yeah, my daily prayer for many, many years has been,  Please don't let me kill anyone. That hasn't changed and is probably responsible for my work OCD and need to triple check everything).

Health:

Is going fantastic.  I'm getting older, which means that conversations will now begin to incorporate health cares and concerns. I have been awesome about regular exercise and trying to eat healthy. I participated in a community health fair which was so much fun. After we had drawn lipid panels on scads of folks (who all hit the line really early because, you know, fasting) we were able to go to the different booths ourselves. My lipid panel was pretty great, I learned that I am not getting hard of hearing after all, and I now have positive proof that I do, indeed, have large bones. My T-score was 1.5! (Acceptable is negative 1 and above. Awesome!

Actual weight loss, however, is as difficult and slow as ever.

Brandon and the ADD experiment is underway as well. He texted me from work telling me that he could already tell a difference. We'll see. But, yowza, that stuff is expensive, even with a co-pay.

Not so good on the exasperating teenager front is Brandon having a little episode of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. (Boys are pretty much idiots). There will be consequences. However, there is good news in that I have confirmation that he tells me the truth about things.

Travel:

Whoop! 82 days till vacation and my trip to Halifax/PEI! (I can always count on [livejournal.com profile] scarym1 to keep a countdown for me!)

Teevee:

Okay, it is easy to avoid spoilers when you happen upon a new obsession. Why did it take me so long to watch Supernatural!?! It basically has ALL, and I do mean all, of my bulletproof kinks!!  I've already begun to ponder DVD purchase. This week, I took note of some laugh out loud lines, most of which came from Castiel and his delivery of said lines:

"A cupid's gone rogue."

"I think we can rule out Moses as a suspect."

"My people skills are rusty! Pardon me, but I've spent the last year as a multi-dimensional wavelength of celestial intent."

And this one from Bobby:

"They're not like the Loch Ness monster, Dean. Dragons aren't real."

I am loving it! I did cave once more and skip a few in season 5 but that's no trouble since I want to go back and re watch a few.

The only problem is that it is further into season 7 than I anticipated and I *have* to see what happens next, what with that season 6 cliffhanger. Castiel! Ahhhhhhh. Sam! Ahhhhhhh. Poor Dean.

Actually, my comments alternated between Poor Castiel! Poor Sam! Poor Dean! and even Poor Bobby! I think they were often said aloud.

I am now recording via DVR (started last week with "Party on, Garth") and catching up via Itunes is gonna cost me. Not to mention it seems very slow going. Tell me why my Netflix streaming in HD is fast while a download is slow when it all uses the same connection.

The CW website only has 5 episodes back, it seems. Sigh. Why do my obsessions always cost me. LOL.

Oh, and I totally laughed loads at the episode where they were sent to an alternate reality where they were the actors in the show. I was ROFL at them trying to act! I am sure that it would be even funnier if I had been a long-time fan of the show and knew all the inside jokes. But Misha posting to twitter was hysterical. HYSTERICAL! And I just know there has to be some inside joke thing with the number of times they talked about the "actors" actually speaking to one another.

Yeah, obviously I'm late for the party and all keen to discuss.

Hee Now I just go, "Poor booooooys." lol

Omg the French Mistake--I think that's the name of the ep. Soo funny.

The whole 'talking' thing... I guess many people on the set have never come across two main actors that work with each other every single day, all day...and are actually really close in real life. They even used to live together.

Here's a couple really sweet J2 vids if you haven't seen them.

Thank you for the good wishes. It was a very nice weekend.

Glad to hear that work and health are going in the right direction. Weight loss...MEH

LOL re Brandon and boys being idiots. At a recent family gathering my cousin Dennis said the same thing, and he was rather a sedate teenager! I hope things will be okay for you both.

I'm so jealous you're going to PEI! I've never been, and it would be lovely to see Mary again :)

Welcome to Supernatural. It can be quite obsession worthy. And it usually has at least one really great quotable line per episode.

Sorry to hear that Brandon got hit by a case of teenager. I don't know how any of us make it to adulthood. The stupidity that we get into as teens is mind-boggling.

Oh, I didn't know you were already a fan of the show.

Cool! If I start going on and on about it, at least I know there are a couple of folks who actually watch the show on my f-list.

Of course, my typical discussion pattern is a whole lot of senseless gushing with the occasional, sporadic thought thrown in.

Yeah, hopefully the consequences of teenager-itis won't be too far-reaching. I'm hopeful that the negative drug screens will help, aside from relief at them being negative. It really is shaping up as a wrong place wrong time scenario.

Still, every time I think about it I hear Red Forman in my mind saying, "Dumb Ass". IDK if you ever watched "That 70's show" or not but I can seriously hear his voice. And that makes me laugh.

As an aside, when I see or hear the term, "mind-boggling", I hear Will Ferrell in Blades of Glory saying " it's mind-bottling". And then I laugh.

This sort of thing happens to me All. The. Time.

I got sucked into SPN four years ago. My friend Mary is obsessed! She knows all about that show.

I'm currently reading "Daughter of Smoke and Bone" and can only see Castiel as the seraphim. LOL

And yes, I'm familiar with "That 70's Show." Dumb ass is the only way to describe most teenagery moves.

You know, I actually kind of love it when I can read a book and "see" favorite characters from a show or movie "as" characters in the book.
