Well, I can see that I am already behind in this Live Journal thing so I better get on with it.

Thanksgiving was nice as this is the first time in five years that I have been off THE WHOLE DAY!!! Is that amazing or what? But, I tend to get antsy if there is any time to kill...I don't know when I became that way. So, after dinner, when everyone was glued to the football games, I rounded my brother and his fiance and a niece of Mom's husband and we went to K-Mart and Walmart. I decided that I needed to do a teensy weensy bit of shopping since I was working at two places the next day. I thought that this year I would actually go for white lights but, once again, I went with the multi colored lights. However, lights is about the only thing I bought. I still have yet to buy a single Christmas present. What can I say, I like to live dangerously.

Friday, I was practically the only admin staff that showed up! Maybe next year I will take the whole four day weekend. That will be nice. I started my day at Manor House and got caught up on some things there. I also learned something new. One of the nurses, who is from England, asked me to draw some blood on a resident. It seems that in England, or so she said, nurses don't draw blood and therefore aren't really trained to do so. The docs do it. Isn't that strange? I wonder if the same goes for IV's? Anyway, I digress. I left there to do a stint at the ER. Fortunately, the shift was rather atypical from the usual holiday madhouse that usually ensues. Whew! I had my doubts when I first arrived but we cleaned it out rather nicely with no wild and woolyness. Well, except for that person from the jail who was trying to kill herself with her shoelaces and told me that she was going to kill her family when she got out. But, really, that was so close to the end of my shift that I didn't even count that little drama. I had an APSU student following me around the whole evening..wasn't really expecting that. She did mention that APSU has finally got a MS/NP program up and running. Hummmmmm...something to ponder.

Saturday, Brandon and I put up the tree to the sounds of traditional Christmas tunes and it is beautiful! Really, every year I am amazed at how pretty the thing is! Now, we all have Christmas traditions. Last year, I introduced Brandon to Steve's and mine. The watching of Christmas Vacation...LOL. What does that say about me? Heh, heh. Well, we watched it that evening and it doesn't matter how many times I have watched it, I am reduced to peals of laughter every time. Especially once Eddie shows up. I mean, who isn't reminded of a good old fashioned family Christmas when you picture Eddie in his PJ's emptying his RV's toilet into the sewer? (Shitter's Full) And, it seemes that Brandon will carry on this time honored family tradition as it was his idea to watch it that evening. Awwwwwwwwww..Sniff, sniff...excuse me while I get my emotions under control.

Well, I have a busy week ahead of me with a meeting in Franklin for two days that I am looking forward to about as much as giving someone an enema! I wish I could get out of it. These meetings just put me behind! Grrrrrrr.

I love those holiday movie traditions! We always watch BEAUTY AND THE BEAST each Christmas. I'm glad you and Brandon are establishing (or continuing) your own traditions. Tell him "hello" for me, wouldja?
