Whew, what a week it has been. I haven't had the time to really post on here and read everyone's entries but I plan on getting to it, eventually.
Last weekend I had a wonderful time visiting with a group of friends, which include soniag and
de23 . We spent the evening talking about myriad topics and I always leave feeling so very fortunate to have such good friends...to have maintained these friendships since high school. I don't often get the opportunity to have such conversations and I really enjoy it.
Then, Sunday morning I learned that my Aunt had died. She had been diagnosed with pancreatic Ca several months ago. That type of Ca is pretty much a death sentence and, like my Dad who also died of Cancer, she died at home and with dignity. Normally, I avoid funerals at all costs but when it is a close family member, you don't really have much of a choice. I think it is sad that many of us never see each other unless there is a death in the family.
The week culminated with my brother's rehearsal dinner last night and marriage today. Brandon and Brianna were in the wedding. Brianna was so adorable and Brandon looked really handsome in his tux. I will have to learn to post pics on here....LOL. (Sigh)..he is growing up so fast and I find it so strange that he has the look and mannerisms of his Dad. One day he found change on the countertop and said, "are you holding out on me woman?" I fell over with laughter and asked him if he was channeling his father!?! It is uncanny, sometimes. Yet, other times he resembles my brother and I wonder how can this be? In any case, he got to spend last evening with "the guys" as long as they weren't planning on engaging in activities inappropriate for a ten year old.(My brother assured me it was the case.)
Anyway, now I am home and I have the evening free! Yippeeee. I will make use of it by watching more Babylon 5. I am into season three now and for anyone who has never seen this show, I highly recommend finding some way to watch it. It is terrific!!!!

Enjoy your evening . . .

I'm looking forward to Labor Day! I wonder how John made out in Metropolis. Maybe at NAH we can have a poker night.

Date: 2005-06-20 12:15 pm (UTC)(((((((hugs)))))))) about your Aunt. I agree, it is a shame that alot of us never see family except at weddings and funerals.
Bravo for your brother and his marriage. It's good to see the family tree grow. As for Brandon, well I feel the same about D sometimes. Sometimes she wears certain clothes and comes out and I almost die because she looks like a short 16 yo!
Glad to hear you got to spend some time with Sonia. I will call this week, not sure which day. Is there a better time or day for you?
