Quickie vid rec (AKA, my heart clutching, Oh, Sam moment of the week)

I haven't had time to post or update and you better believe that one of those bullet-y, random, day to day stream of consciousness sort of posts is pending.

I thought I'd get to it today but this is the first day I've had to play catch up at home for the past couple of weeks.

But I sat down for a few moments and happened across this vid and Oh, WOW! The song is fantastic and It really highlights my feelings about the finale (which I still ponder at the strangest moments. Yesterday, I'm on a raft at the pool and, suddenly, I'm thinking about all the levels of meaning to Sam saying, "How do I stop?" and Dean's response) and it is just an awesome visual representation of how Sam's arc CUTS ME TO MY CORE!!!

 I just cannot get over how this show has latched onto my brain, how it makes me obsess think about the characters a whole heck of a lot, and how it makes me feel ALL the feelings. I know, I know. I have fangirl tendencies. I've ALWAYS had fangirl tendencies.  Fangirls SQUEE! But, this show.  It just takes everything that I have felt in the past for beloved shows and multiplies it times one thousand!

Well, crap. Now I wanna surf vids. I knew I should have never sat down at this computer!!!!

I finally got to watch this vid today. Wow! Yes, it does a great job showing Sam's arc (and the "So?" *sob*). I love the editing with the black space in the slow part of the song and the fades between the fast cuts.

I hope to rewatch the finale tonight. Like you, I found myself at odd moments during the trip thinking, "What did Sam/Dean say at that part? I can't remember - must rewatch!!"

It is a fantastic vid. I have watched it numerous times since posting the rec. I even tried to watch it on the big screen TV but I could never find it, though I found some of the vidder's other vids. I am certain that has to do with permissions or restrictions and what not that I don't even understand. I have seen the same thing with some of my own vids. If I search for my own name on youtube via the bluray player, some of my vids come up and others do not even if they were all uploaded in the same way and have the same privacy listing.

I do think it is more often related to the music content rather than the SPN content because, from what I have heard though by no means to be considered wholly factual, the SPN folks and the CW are more lenient about these things, having recognized that vids tend to promote the show more often than not. And goodness knows that Stargate has been over for quite some time now. IMHO, you'd think the music folks would get with the program, especially where vids are concerned. Sure, there is probably some really savvy person out there with the technology to separate the song from the original vid but I don't know how to do that and that seems like a lot of work when there's other, easier methods of acquiring music via alternate means. In my case, it's the opposite. I can't even tell you how many songs I would have never heard or purchased if hadn't heard it first in a fanvid.
