I have a few minutes before it is time to ready myself for work and thought I would catch up on everyone and post an entry. I am still enjoying being back at the hospital despite having to deal with a crazy, threatening person in the ER. Who would have thought watching someone get handcuffed by the police would give me so much pleasure...LOL. An officer should have been with her the whole time anyway as the ER was full of people who were sick. Psycho chick was not my main concern!

Anyway, I was happy to receive my first DVD of Farscape season two. It's official. I love John Crichton!! I decided to buy them one at a time as the boxed sets are outrageous!  I also received an old copy of The House Between the Worlds as I guess it is out of print. I have been wanting to read that again for some time now.

My son has reached the age where the price tag for "wish lists" are pricey. For his birthday, he wants a PSP. I have priced them! WOW!!! He has been informed that should he receive this gift for his birthday later this month that there will be no birthday party per se. He was okay with that. Brandon is usually okay with just about anything unless he is in the middle of a meltdown. He hasn't had one of those in quite some time, though. I also have a good mind to consider it part of his Christmas as well.

Speaking of Brandon, I traumatised him a few days ago. He had a picture of the male and famale reproductive systems in his science book. He started asking a few very specific questions. I told him in certain graphic terms what happens when we have sex (of course the we here is an all inclusive, global we as this personal we has reached the virgin statute of limitations due to non-activity!) In any case, Brandon started asking, "so you and Dad" and I would answer "Yes". "So Frannie and Mike", "Yes",  "So Meme and Terry", "Yes"....and on it went and  Brandon's expression of horror grew. ROFL!!!! Who would have thought that telling your child the "facts of life" would be soooooo much fun. I have laughed for days.........

EEK!!!! on the ER nut. I thought that stuff only happened on ER *grins*

Now you have me grinning concerning B and sex. D's comment is usually. "Mom, stop being so graphic!" You being a nurse means more specific knowledge than I can provide. Oh man! Seriously though, isn't it fun to watch them grow up? The expensive presents notwithstanding. I don't know about you but I'll take my giggles where I can get them. Oh and can you bottle that mellow personality and send some up here? I know alot of D's volatility comes from me, dammit I need to be mellow!

((((hugs))))

LOL...yes these things do happen on occasion, even in the smallest of ER's. We do just about everything except major trauma as we are not really equipped to deal with that. All we can do with those folks is try to keep them alive until we can get them to a major trauma center. In most cases, EMS usually just bypasses us by calling Lifeflight or Airevac which is fine with me. Of course if the weather is bad and they aren't flying......eeeeek.

I guess I know what I have to look forward to. I hope I can pull it off with the same humor you do!

Your work life is so exciting -- nothing interesting ever happens to me (although I did have to call security one time at TSU because a man went beserk when he discovered the copier was down).

ROFL on the copier meltdown. Now, I have felt like that myself on occasion in regards to copiers. They are down more than they work, it seems!
