Kids are alot like cars. You take them in to the doc's and, suddenly, they aren't making that pinging sound anymore. B has had an allergic reaction to something and we have been mucking about with the Benadryl and Claritin all week. So, I think he might need a shot of steroids or a medrol dose pack to really give it the boot. However, when I pick him up from school to take him to the doc's, there isn't a rash to be seen anywhere. I take him anyway, "I promise it was there". But, basically it was a wasted trip and that I should keep doing what I am doing. I guess you can't treat what isn't there. What happens next? Oh, I am sure you can guess. He wakes up this am covered....again. Gah!

I am feeling a wee bit yucky myself, the sore throat cough sort of thing. A twelve hour night is a long time when you aren't feeling 100%. That, and I will be working with the King of all Jackasses in the ER. Bah! I should meditate before going in. Maybe I will just drink more coffee instead.

And I must welcome [livejournal.com profile] dombede to the LJ fold!

You are sooo right re kids and cars. I've made those wasted trips myself. What's worse is wasting someone else's time and my own because I can't drive. GADS! I hope you are feeling okay and I wish you good vibes against the jackass.

Yes! And thank goodness for a really good co-pay. Thanks, I will need all the good vibes I can get so that I don't throttle him before the shift is over. I try to deflect with humour but I sense he and I are going really butt heads before too long.
