gateslacker: (whatever)

Well, it seems that it has been ages since I last updated or responded to any posts. I have been reading but couldn't seem to come up with anything remotely interesting to say in reply. My antisocial behavior is likely to end just in time for ye olde work stretch.

I did manage to register for Toronto Trek this week. Hooray. I haven't booked the flights as of yet as I am still researching different fares. I put in my vacation request and received the usual response of, "We'll try". NO! Either do or do not, there is no try! ;-) I suppose if they told me at the last minute that I couldn't take the vacation I would be taking a permanent vacation under the heading of, "You're fired". LOL!

Speaking of flights, [livejournal.com profile] de23 and [livejournal.com profile] dm_lunsford , I have been researching fares for a trip to visit [livejournal.com profile] soniag  You know we talked about that at our get together and DeAnne and I discussed it again at Apple Hill. The lowest I have found is $165 (which includes taxes) for round trip.

[Bad username or unknown identity: I could swing that rather than driving forever. What do you all think?]

Hope the Toronto Trek works out okay. If we make our trip this summer I'll check with you and make sure we visit during an off stretch, that way you won't have any difficulties. Our plans are pretty flexible at this point.

I've recently started Sally Malcolm's "A Matter of Honor", one of the Stargate novels. Sally is actually Sally Reeve a well known ship writer but she's written gen here. Good book. You and [livejournal.com profile] soniag are sooo good. You're reading a variety and quality LOL. I really should broaden my horizons.

I am sure it will, that is the standard response to any vacation request and it totally irritates me to no end!

As for the book reading, don't praise me yet. I am reading more lately but I still get my recommended dose of fanfiction. LOL!!!

I'm open to either driving or flying. What airline was that $165 fare on? I know Southwest typically has pretty good fares but I don't think even they offer a round-trip price that good unless it's one of their occasional "special" fares.

Well, it was American Airlines and today the total price is $161...you know how that is. I only looked on Orbitz this am. Last night, I searched on Cheaptickets and Orbitz and the price was the same. I plugged in the dates DeAnne and I discussed (13th through the 16th) and I just assumed that Oklahoma City was the destination. I could be wrong about that. There is one stop....I didn't even see any non stop options.
