I am exceedingly irritated at the moment. I haven't made a vid in ages and ages, though I have had a few ideas, because I didn't really want to get started on such a project due to the amount of time it takes. For me, vidding is like reading a book. I can't put down and, therefore, it takes up way too much of the time I should be spending doing something else. Tonight, though, I had a bit of free time and I decided to get  started on that season nine vid I want to make. I also have a new vidding program that I have been wanting to figure out. In the process, I found some really cool stuff that I thought would look good in a vid and some cool features, such as the ability to correct/alter the look and/or color hues of the clip. Way Cool! However, I also realized that there were some features that I enjoyed with movie maker that were missing from Pinnacle.  Why can't there just be one program with it all? In any case, everything was going pretty well until Pinnacle started freezing up on me. I know it is a huge ram hog but I thought I could get by. I guess I am going to have to buy some more ram. Grrrrrrrrr. In the meantime, I have a vid that wants to be made and I guess I will just have to go back on my promise not to use Movie Maker ever again. Oh, that I could combine what I like from each program into one terrific program that isn't at all testy. Movie Maker freezes as well but it doesn't take very long to load so there you have it.

[profile] ruralstar, I downloaded one of your vids, Beautiful Day, but I haven't watched yet. (it took a bit of time to download  for some reason and by then I was caught up vid making. [profile] scarym1, your video took two seconds to download...LOL  (The evil Daniel vid) and I did watch it.  I love the clips you chose and their arrangement but I just really (really!) didn't  like that song...LOL. Your clips went well, though. I am ever grateful for the season nine eps you sent to me!!!

I have been watching season one of X-files and I really, really enjoyed that ep with General  Hammond ....er....Scully's Dad. The title had something about the sea in it. In any case, I was rather transfixed by the whole ep! I really had forgotten how creepy X-files could be.

I also managed to take in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. It has been awhile since I read the book and was going to read it again before watching but decided the heck with it. I thought the movie was very good and I blubbered quite a bit through it all. When Aslan said, "It is Finished", I got Goosebumps, I tell ya!!!

Beyond the Sea. Definitely one of the best episodes of that season. I loved it too. Also the bad guy, ach, what's the actor's name again? Brad Dourif. He plays a lot of psychos and bad guys on sci-fi shows, was on Babylon 5, Voyager... He asked for a lot of money, but they wanted him in that episode, so some production people actually chose to skip a paycheck so they could pay him. It was worth it, I think :-)

Yes! I wanted to mention him as well but I couldn't remember his name and was too lazy to go look it up, though it came to me in the middle of the night...LOL!

He was also Piter De Vries in Dune (the 80s movie version)which was the first time I ever saw him. In any case, he did a terrific job in Beyond the Sea in making me sympathetic to his character. I felt sorry for him when Scully didn't show up in the end.

Yes, there is that which makes me beg the question, has he ever portrayed a run of the mill character?

Oh yes. But, I think I have found a small way around the problem..if it works. It seems that I can edit clips and add them to the timeline all I want in Pinnacle without constant crashing. It just has a meltdown when I actually watch the video within the program. It seems that all of these programs hate that. Hence, the need for more ram, methinks. So, make the clips look how I want in Pinnacle. Save it and then import into Movie Maker. The only problem is needing to know most of the clips you want to use before hand to make life simple.

Wouldn't that be so nice to have all that at your disposal. That is one of the time consuming tasks. Ripping and/or downloading the eps and then deciding what you want and editing it. But, the editing part can be fun when certain temperamental programs that shall not be named cooperate. When they don't, you want to really pull your hair out!

I got very teary during LWW too. I was surprised how I turned into goo even though I knew all the story. Oh, X-Files. If I had any time to actually watch the shows I already have waiting, and then *more* time to think about other shows, I'd Tivo the reruns that are on all the time and try to catch the first season. I hope you get you vid done...I might actually be able to watch some soon (see upcoming LJ post).

Yes, I was blubbering like a baby, I am afraid, but I suppose I can forgive myself since I rarely allow myself to cry..LOL! X-files has been a pleasure to rediscover. I am wondering how long it will take to see an ep that I have seen before. Maybe I watched sporadically since Shapes (the one about the werewolf (sortof) on the Reservation) seemed really familiar. But, I hadn't seen the one after.

As for vids, do I detect a hint of DSL in your future. In any case, I have the higher quality versions on my computer and saved to VCD so they can be viewed on the DVD hooked to my TV. If we ever get a chance to do our end of season five viewing party, maybe we could watch one...provided there aren't too many spoilery things. Sometimes, vids are edited in such a way as not to spoil...LOL But, since you won't even read the ep blurbs on the back of the DVD cases (You are so strong!!!, I don't know how that would work for you.
