Okay, I really, really want this snow to BE GONE! LOL! I have had enough of it. How people live in locales where there is snow on the ground for *months* is beyond me. My road is only now beginning to melt.

Brandon is off for the evening to Mom's and I have the house to myself. What to do, what to do? We had a nice Christmas. This is the first year Brandon has known that there is no Santa Clause so it was actually nice to be able to put the presents under the tree long before Christmas Eve. My family came over for the traditional Christmas breakfast that morning and afterwards, we opened presents. I am telling you, Brianna was a hoot! She is at that age where she gets a thrill out of opening presents. Her's and everyone else's. Who cares about what is in the packages. But, the ultimate cuteness came when she opened her last present, a Little pink purse. She then proceeded to put it on her shoulder, stand up, tell us all "bye", and head for the door. We were all overcome with laughter.

This was the first year that my brother got into the holiday spirit as well, in that he thought of others besides himself...LOL. He and his fiance were so cute (yes you know you are old when you refer to people in their early 20's as cute) and he called me at work many, many times to ask...does Brandon like this, do you like that. LOL, in the end I received Return of the King from him. Since his fiance had gotten him a pink shirt for his birthday, for which Mike,(brother-in-law) ribbed him unmercifully, Frannie and Mike actually dyed a pair of underwear and socks pink! Watching him open those was pretty funny.

Mom did very well although we all missed Terry this year. He used to help me cook the breakfast and he certainly loved Christmas. I made way more coffee than I should have because I was used to him drinking quite a bit. He was good to Mom, better than my father really, and I think, before us, he really didn't have his own family in the traditional sense of the word.

This was my year for DVD's as, in addition to ROTK, I received the Star Wars trilogy and Spiderman 2. Sunday afternoon, I had quite the Star Wars Marathon! Isn't it strange that I can still get this little thrill of excitement upon hearing that opening theme. I wonder if this is how it will feel years from now, when I drag out my dusty Stargate DVD's (hey, it could happen.....someday ;-)

I was going to ask how you and yours were doing since your stepdad passed on so suddenly. ((((((hugs)))))) to you all. At least you gave him something that he never had before, a real family.

Love the pink purse and Brianna, that is so damn sweet. As for presents... Well both the girls still believe in Santa and even if they didn't I'm afraid Shadow would have eaten the presents LOL. Your boy is really growing up.

LOL to your brother and his fiance, the kids! Good God I felt the same way watching some of the local service people leaving recently. They are just children for pity sakes. Scary indeed.
