In the light of day I did find it necessary to delete my previous entry but I did want to have a massive group (((((((hug)))))) with all of you!! You don't know how much I appreciate each and every one of you!!!
I did manage to download Morpheus and realized that I didn't miss a thing. The episode was great until that total convenient wrap up in the Lab. I thought, perhaps, I had missed a scene. All in all, though, it still ranks up there for what came before. And that bit with Vala and Woolsey at the end. PRICELESS!!! I still need Misbegotten, though.
I checked out Eureka and it has promise though I wasn't blown away or anything.
I finished reading We Were the Mulvaneys and by golly that was a painful read! Every once in a while I had to put the thing down because the ongoing implosion was just too painful to behold. I am going to try and stop buying books so much by heading to the library more often. Of course, our library though bigger than when it was a room in the courthouse, is still a wee bit small. This plan works as long as I stay away from the bookstore ;-) The only problem, though, I get in there and can't remember a single recommendation anyone has made. Therefore, I would like a few recommendations from all the fine folks on my f-list. I don't know if I mentioned it before, but I have been trying to break out of my genre reading a bit (science fiction book club is probably wondering what became of me) and I need ideas and recommendations and such.
I am going to head to the gym today as it's really hot..LOL. I joined a new gym that has way more options than Curves did. Due to all the "stuff" it has already translated into a longer workout which is good when time permits. I don't like the treadmill as much as the great outdoors but it does tell you speed and distance though it annoys me that I can't stop looking at the displays no matter how I try! That drives me crazy.

Date: 2006-07-26 08:05 pm (UTC)I think you should read some stuff by Dianna Wynne Jones. It reminds me a lot of that Crown book you always loved (Golden Crown, Black Crown, what was the title?). It's not too far afield from SciFi, but not hard core either.
I'm sure I have some more rec's in my brain, but can't think of any now.
