A Great Day

After several days viewing life as a spectator sport, I feel really engaged today. Maybe the fog has lifted. I hate those times when, even surrounded by friends and family, you feel an outsider who isn't a part of anything. Yucko indeed.
In any case, my doldrums haven't kept me from staying busy. I had a nice weekend visiting with friends even though we stayed up late every night and got up early every day. That seems to get harder and harder as I get older.
de23 joined me on Friday night and I introduced her to season nine. We got carried away and watched 7 episodes! Even though season 9 is a different stargate, she seemed to enjoy it as evidenced by the comment "can we watch one more?". I also enjoyed some of those iffy episodes more the second time around. The next day we went to a fall festival at her church and had a good time, especially the kids. Afterwards we watched S's soccer practice and, amazingly, I ran into a couple of people I know on the soccer field, though I don't even live in Clarksville. We were joined that evening by Leigh and Eric and after having a very period dinner of take out Pizza, we managed to get the chronicle all sorted. I have had it for months but haven't really taken the time to sort it so it was good we did this. I relinquished the thing to Eric since I have been so derelict in my duties. We even called
soniag to get her opinion on the matter, poor dear, as I am sure she really wasn't up for such a long and detailed conversation at 11pm. We'll have to blame it on the vanilla vodka!
Naturally, after such fun and games, I have had to play catchup with my "homework". I also have the possibility of taking a new schedule at work. Seems that they have posted two new RN positions who will be "floaters" working 11am-11pm. I went to talk to my supervisor today as I think this would be perfect for me at the present time and would certainly free up my useless Monday spent sleeping. I do well on nights but I have noticed that after a certain amount of time, it begins to bother me. It takes a few years, but eventually I start noticing those negative effects on my overall energy level. An area oncologist would also like to start giving chemo at the hospital, though it would be considered outpatient. I certainly would love to be chemotherapy certified. It seems that I am one of those folks who has to be learning something new and/or doing different things all the time in order to feel that I am in a career and not just doing a job. That probably is what prompted my beginning grad school. I suppose it could be said that I am never satisfied...LOL!
Besides Alias and VM, I am still slowly working through Farscape again. I found myself getting all misty eyed over Gilina and then the season one ender as well. Gulp, sob. On to season two.........

Date: 2006-10-04 10:11 pm (UTC)And yes, I did enjoy S9! And since I'm getting close to caught up with Gate, it's almost time for...Farscape! Of course, I've been busy with S2 of Doctor Who the last few days (whee!).

Date: 2006-10-05 03:36 pm (UTC)I wonder when we'll see each other next? I do need to watch Atlantis, though, and I know I won't if S9 is sitting there.
Are you implying something about me with your icon? ;-)

Date: 2006-10-05 06:20 pm (UTC)I am sure that I will be going to Clarksville sometime in the next couple of weeks. I'll let you know beforehand so we can either meet up or I can drop it off. I probably won't have the opportunity to watch the DVD's or extras for awhile and I don't want to make you wait.

Date: 2006-10-05 11:23 pm (UTC)That new schedule sounds like a good opportunity. I have heard that working nights can be very hard on your health. I wish I could get a job where I would have the opportunity to learn new stuff all the time.
Have you checked out any of the new fall shows? HEROES on Monday's is quite intriquing. Then there is JERICHO on Wednesday's just before LOST. Have you had the chance to check that out? Quite the season opener. Hmmmm?
I am going away to PEI this weekend. It is Thanksgiving up here. My sister Stella is cooking dinner. YUM!!!!! : ) Everyone except for my bro in England will be there. Should be fun.

Date: 2006-10-06 06:46 pm (UTC)I haven't watched the webisodes as I am not that into BSG. I hope I don't need that info. I don't watch every day, rather, I tend to watch several eps at once on certain nights.
I was worried that I wouldn't like the new doctor and am glad that I do.

Good luck with the job interview!!!
