For being so antisocial of late. All my writing energies have been exhausted by completing papers and assignments. I actually wrote practically an entire paper yesterday and completed an entire essay exam today. Now, I just have a final due next week and I am done for this semester! Tomorrow, I refuse to even think about the Final. I am going to have a goof off day and attend a co-worker's Christmas party. It will be the only Christmas activity I have engaged in so far!!. My house still has the fall decorations. The tree is no where in sight and I have but one gift purchased and wrapped (and that is only because it was Brandon's skateboard I ordered. There was no where to hide that huge box so I simply wrapped it. It is sitting in the middle of the dining room floor.)

I did buy some Christmas cards in the hopes that I would get them mailed at some point. I am having a hard time getting into a festive mood. Probably because I have been so distracted by everything else.

The only entertainment I have managed was completing the Alias run and  Under the Mistletoe. I know I am enamored  of an actor when I will  actually sit through a Lifetime movie! It was very sappy and, yet, I found myself sniffling in a few parts. I am SUCH A GIRL when it comes to movies. Oh, but I would have fallen for MS's character in a heartbeat. Surprising, I am sure ;-) The last ep of Alias had me shedding a few tears as well. Alias has been the show that I "can't put down". Strangely, the series finale was both satisfying and disappointing. I wanted certain characters to redeem themselves in the end (am I really that optimistic?) and they never truly answered all those Rambaldi questions to my complete satisfaction. Despite this, the last episode was poignant and ended well.

However, now I am at a Netflix loss. I have Bleak House here though I haven't started it.  Other than that, I don't know what series to immerse myself in next. I'm open to suggestions.

I loved "Bleak House", it's quite a surprising twist to the usual BBC Victorian Drama thing. And Gillian Anderson is amazing in it.

I'm actually trying NOT to start any new series; I stopped off at the third season of Angel, but I know that if I get the fourth I'll be immersed in it for a week, and I'd rather read a book or something. I am so obsessive :-)

I have heard good things about Bleak House. I try to find new series to watch to justify the money I spend on Netflix every month! This month, they are making money on me.

I have heard Buffy and Angel were good so I considered adding them to the queue.

I like being a little bit obsessive. I miss my little obsessions of late :-(

First - GO YOU for getting all that writing done! And no apologies necessary. Nothing zaps your energy quite like writing papers/essays. So does this mean your educational work is done for the remainder of this calendar year?

Second - don't worry, you aren't the only one who is dragging her feet in terms of holiday prep. I got a good start on my decorations last week, but haven't felt at all inclined to do anything this week. At least you have the excuse that you've been swamped with school work. I keep telling myself it's only Dec. 6 - not quite time to panic yet. ; )

And third - yes, "Under the Mistletoe" was so sappy, but MS was wonderful and gorgeous (OHMYSTARS did you see him in those very well fitting jeans and HOCKEY SKATES!!!) and pulled off his role most believably. How sad is it that I think I could happily spend many hours just sitting about and watching him interact with kids? Oh, to be a fly on his wall for a day. ; )

No real suggestions for Netflix, other than maybe just doing a search of their "new release" section - it might spur something of interest.

DITTO!!!

Lovely fitting jeans, lovely skating, lovely swooning. (Happy sigh).

I did enjoy seeing him interact with the kid(s). It was one of my favorite aspects of the movie. It was so natural!

Just doing a quick check of LJ while on a break from work. I am still quite excited that I can do this at work. Definitely a nice perk and gives me a nice break from all my filing. : )

Don't worry about not being around. I figured you were quite busy with school, etc. How goes the new shift?

No decorations up at my place either. I have been out twice shopping but haven't bought anything. I am just not inspired.

UTM was such a shallow feast. Those blue jeans were so NICE!!!! There already pics of them up at GW. I thought the script was quite thin. I did like the end where she announced her love for him on the radio show and then their kiss on the ice. MS has such a nice smile, I wish Daniel would smile like that.

You should definitely check out HEROES!!!! I think it should be on reruns over christmas and I think there is even a site where you can download it as well. This is just an awesome show better then LOST!!!!!!!

My break is over so I should back to it. I really should make an update myself. : )

It's great that you can do that on your break. It sounds as though you are enjoying your new job!

The script was thin but it had some great moments here and there. I liked the interaction between them when the son ran away. I enjoyed all the interaction MS had with the kid. Of course, when she reads his name, that was enjoyable although it almost seemed out of left field, as though any sparks other than the kiss had been cut.

To answer your question, LOVE the new shift!!

Congrats on getting all that done. One more push and you're free for a while! When the final and all is wrapped up, perhaps we can plan a Miss Mable's trip.
Have you watched North & South yet?

(ducks head in shame) No, not yet. But, over the break, I plan to indulge myself non stop with all sorts of entertainment.

It would be nice if we could make the time to get together. It seems ages since we planned anything.
