Quick note..

gateslackerJudging from the grade on my last Theory paper (100....eyes bug out), I should always wait till the last minute. I also did pretty well on my powerpoint presentation and have an A in my Theory class. I wasn't sure if I would be able to do that in this class since I fretted and worked diligently on my last paper and received a 92 (which back in the days of yore was an "A"but now it is merely a "B"...LOL). Perhaps my subject matter was more compelling. Perhaps Dr. S was feeling the Christmas spirit.... A final and I am done till Jan 16th!!!
In technical news, I installed some more RAM on my computer all by my lonesome. Of course, it wasn't the most complex of operations, but still. I can tell it has improved the ease and speed of program running...or maybe that is my imagination.
However, I had to have the Geek Squad come out and set up the wireless. Seems that some drivers had gone missing and whatnot. (Imagine that?)So, now I have this mini network.
The tech asked me if I was a Stargate fan. I asked, "what gave it away?" (snicker). He was a fan as well. (Not surprising...Geek Squad.? Hello?). We talked about the merits of season 10. (He thinks the Ori are the best. villains. evah.) We also discussed Dr. Who (the new doc is growing on him though his GF loves the new doc. Must be a female thing). We discussed BSG. (his parents are sci-fi folks and he's trying to get them into it.)
It must be nice to have family and sig others who are into that sort of thing. My family mostly think I'm strange.

I loved reading about your SciFi conversations with the Geek Squad dude.
And I'm envious that you'll soon be done with school until January. I still have seven teaching days, and then only two weeks off until we have to go back.
BUT, you still have to work even though school takes a break, right? So what am I whining about?

Date: 2006-12-12 08:02 pm (UTC)So how much RAM do you have now? I am thinking that between Christmas and New Years, I will be ordering my new system. The one I am looking at has 1 GB of RAM. It will be quite the change from 256 MB. : )
It happens so rarely, that I always get quite exciting when I run into someone else who is into Stargate, etc.
I often wonder why out of my whole family, including all my nieces, nephews and cousins, that I am the only SCI-FI fan. At least that I know of. I think most of my family thinks of me as eccentric. ; )I love telling my sister Stella all about my adventures to cons. She seems to get a kick out of it.

One of these day's I'll get to watch season 10, I don't have sky anymore so dont get to watch all the new shows, I have to wait a whole year later and then either watch on terestrial or buy the box sets.
