I sorely wanted to tell that to a negative coworker today but, heck, she wouldn't have gotten the reference. Needless to say, most of my coworkers don't get any of my  references. One of the docs mentioned getting a patient breakfast and I said she had had breakfast but she was being advanced to a regular diet so I said, "Oh,she needs second breakfast" No one got that either. (Sigh) I keep hoping that maybe, someday, I will come across another coworker who is a sci fi kindred spirit. It happened in my last job and it was great fun.

In any case, the initial reference pertains to my latest Netflix discovery, Red Dwarf. Oh my, but this show is hysterical!! It's on the lines of "Hitchhikers Guide" hysterical. But series one only had, like, six eps. I kept wondering if I was missing something in the ole' queue and spent an inordinate amount of time looking for it.

I am also enjoying Bleak House. I suppose that watching North and South set me on a BBC viewing frenzy but, really, I have had both Bleak House and Red Dwarf in the house for a whole month and never had the chance to watch. Netflix earned money on me during the month of December....

Anyway, I am surfacing briefly to relate my viewing habits. I know you all were thinking, "I wonder what Glenda is watching these days..."

Work is insane with about a bazillion patients but at least I'm not fighting nausea this go round. I had that last week and, after several days, it got worse before it got better. Fortunately, it resolved in the nick of time so I could have a nice outing on Tuesday with [profile] dm_lunsford and [profile] de23. I wore my new scrub top today and received mucho compliments so I am glad I went all retro and bought it. I believe the styling also creates an optical illusion that makes you look thinner. Yes, I have lost 22 lbs but several folks actually noticed it moreso today...LOL! (Made me wish all my scrub tops were designed like that.)

In my long and varied job history, I have never been lucky enough to have a co-worker who was a SF fan.

I just love RED DWARF!!!!!!! British TV shows don't do the usual 20+ eps per season like here in north america. RD usually had about 6 eps a season. My fave character is CAT. I agree with Merlie that the last two or so season were not the best. IMHO that was because the writing team changed and a few other things that I won't say because that would spoil it for you.

I was beside my self with sguee when one of the cast members actually came to a con here in Halifax back in the late 90's.

Yes, don't spoil me your spoilery spoiler you! LOL.

I thought Cat had one of the best introductions, for sure! I haven't claimed a fave though I do love Lister. Holly makes me laugh every time he speaks though and poor Rimmer is just "souper"! It's all smegging good fun.

Also, have you pinned down any dates for your trip? I am going to put in my vacation request asap before any days are snapped up!

Vacation season usually starts in May...
