Alas, I have no reading update for you, unless you want to discuss the difference between humoral immunity and cell mediated immunity OR just how whacked our health care system really is. Despite my studying progress, I am still a wee bit behind (those chapters are so loooong), so this is the week of reading all of the required material before the assignments explode. I think I am gonna work in some laundry in between time. It's funny. The folks at McDonalds recognize me now and they asked me yesterday where my computer was. Really, I could go to the library, I am sure, but they do have wireless at McD's and when I sit there for three hours reading or typing a paper, I can at least drink a soda!

I did have some time at night to watch more RED DWARF! Is it me, or does this show get funnier and funnier? (at least till the rumored changes in later seasons.....series....whatever) Polymorph was just about THE funniest thing I have ever seen, especially Rimmer's "facilitator" speech. I am so going to purchase this series!

My enjoyment of Horatio Hornblower wasn't diminished by watching it backward, it would seem. I really enjoyed The Duel and I can see why  [profile] dm_lunsford developed her fascination for Ioan Gruffudd. How can you not? Also, who realized Jamie Bamber's eyes were so blue? You certainly can't see that with BSG, everything is so dark. It was also nice to see JB play a character I didn't want to shove out an airlock half the time. Really, Anders and Dee need to hook up. The both of them are too good for their selfish, self-centered counterparts. The over the top tortured soul routine is getting old and, let's face it, they will never be able to approach Baltar's level of screwed up psyche so why bother? I was disappointed they found a way to continue the love quadrangle. As a fan of the original series, how is it possible that  Apollo and Starbuck have now become the characters I am LEAST interested in? The mythos and the relationships between the other characters are now what draws me to this show.

Bri's dance instructor also teaches aerobics and Sis and I went to a class last night. I do like a bit of variety in workout options and though I should really add some strength training to the mix, I will never be able to tolerate any sort of weight lifting machines. I can't get past the boredom of that...LOL! Unfortunately, Monday evening is my only option for the class since the other one is on Thursday but it will be good to do something a little different one day a week.

I hope you do purchase RED DWARF because then we could have a RD viewing marathon as well as a SG1. : )

I agree with you on BSG. Lee and Starbuck are my least fave. I am getting tired with the cylons as well. I would love for it to concentrate on just the humans for awhile.

I thought about joining a gym but I couldn't afford to do that and buy my new computer. So I went with the less healthy choice. ; )

I would have done the same. Sad but true LOL

Well, I am sure if I had to make the choice you did, I would go for the computer! ;-) But, the aerobic's class is only $2 each time so that isn't so very bad an expense.

Oh, we certainly will have to have a viewing extravaganza when you are here! Perhaps, even, a complete viewing party. We'll see if De and Michelle can join us.

Of course I'd love to! When is this we're talking about?

Maybe I can come do aerobics with you some Monday. I do tapes a lot but I do miss being in a real class sometimes and $2 is a bargain!

When Mary visits in May!

The class is a bargain and there aren't very many folks (at this time). At the moment, she has the class in the fellowship hall of a church but she is actually in the process of building a place for her dance classes.

The class on Monday is at 5pm

It will depend on what my schedule is with subbing (or hopefully full blown teaching by then), but if at all possible I definitely want to join in on the fun when Mary visits in May.

Well, I certainly hope you can. Perhaps a Friday night/Saturday viewing event would work (she will be here May16-20 (Wed-Sun).

I haven't watched this week's BSG yet but your comments don't bode well for my enjoyment level. I don't know if Dee deserves anything per se but I do know she doesn't deserve a guy using her for a pitstop in his pursuit of the pathetic alternative that is Starbuck. I miss Six leaning over Gauis' shoulder all the time too. He is delightfully neurotic and I hope they show more of him and the complicated relationships of Adama/Roslin, Cheif/Calli and Boomer/Helo. I don't actively Ship on this series but if I'm going to watch pairings I would like to watch ones that are actually progressing in direction or another.

Good for you on the aerobics. I must say I've always been way too embarassed to go to a class like that. I'm afraid of not being able to see the moves fast enough to reproduce them. Getting laughed at as a child was enough public humiliation for me I guess. Now if I had a close friend to go with it might be different.

Good luck with all that reading!

Well, there WAS some enjoyment, if you get my meaning.

Classes like that are always more fun with a friend, most definitely. I had my moments where folks laughed at me or taunted me when I was a kid. You can't be an overweight person and NOT go through that. But I think somewhere along the way I must have developed a way to see the humor in my own mishaps and started laughing at myself before anyone else did. With adults, sometimes pointing out your own absurdities can turn a negative experience into a positive one.

Glad you have been able to track down the earlier stories in the Hornblower series. I believe it's most enjoyable, no matter what order you watch them in. ; )
