Well, here I am

Since everyone has gone from talking to one another to talking at one another, I decided I better jump on the bandwagon or get left behind. As to what I am going to say, well, we shall see.

I guess the first order of business, and well it should be, is the renewal of Stargate for season nine! Can I get a WOOHOO??? I know that some of you have your wellfounded reservations but, as for me, I want the ride to continue until I am ready to puke and demand to be let off...LOL! What can I say, I am excited about the whole thing. I doesn't help that Stargate is one of the only shows I watch on television other than HGTV which I have been DVR-ing of late. Why didn't I become an interior designer or something? But, I digress. Where was I? Stargate! (as if I could forget) I think there is so much that they need to tie up that I don't see can be resolved before the end of this season. They really need another season. All I can say is when they do decide to end it, they don't go for the ambiguous artsy-fartsy ending that movies are so fond of and they don't go for another Full Circle. I think that would make me whine and pout for a month or two.

What else is new? Well, I am still enjoying my new job. Funny, that I should enjoy working with elderly people with dementia and other such things. I have this one 98 year old lady who asks me every single day if I am new...and tells me every day how old she is. Of course, I tend to miss all the guts and glory that went with working in the ER but you can't have it all and, right now, a decent schedule is my top priority since my offspring is getting to that age where he wants to be involved in extracurricular activities.

By the way, does anyone know when boys actually hit puberty? Brandon has been more moody of late. I thought I had a few years before teenage drama was an issue. Heaven help me!

Anyway, for those of you who are waiting for a VCD, they are ready to go. I just need to get to the post office to mail them out. And, is Karen's birthday today? Happy Birthday!!!!Hey, will this thing keep up with birthdays?

Well, that's all for now and I suppose it is a start.

Yeah -- that's one thing about LJ that's still kinda weird to me, the aspect of talking generally into the void instead of focusing on an exchange with an individual. Sometimes it weirds me so much that I think about just scrapping the whole thing and going back full-time to my [*gasp*] pen and paper journal, but then I think about how I'm going to miss out on all the news from my friends, and I reconsider.

Anyway, glad to see you here!

Well, I have never been one to write in a journal. Oh, there have been times that I have tried to write in one but upon reading it the next day, I would become embarassed and pitch. How is that for weird...LOL.

But, I do miss the flurry of e-mails I used to get. At least if I post replies and such I will feel as though I am talking to someone. And, I think it will be great fun to read everyone else's journal and see what is up.

I don't know about the ship...who can tell what is going to happen next.

And this brings me to a question for the day. Should Jack be somewhat incommunicado, could you see ship between Sam and another character (not Pete...LOL). Hypothetically speaking, of course.

I think it would be great fun to see all your responses.

I'm finding that doesn't bother me so much, especially when I remind myself that should someone respond I'll be getting a copy of that in my email box. No, the part that's been strange for me is finding myself as an observer when two (or more) other folks suddenly begin having a conversation between them in my LJ. No, I don't really mind this. (I tend to like to be the "observer" in conversations anyway.) But it is a little strange, still.

And I'm trying to get excited about season 9, but you know that this doesn't bode well for ship. (wah!)

Unless, perchance, we get a scenario where Jack actually retires, and he and Sam live happily ever after. : ) Okay, okay - I realize that particular plot device would actually make some fans go ballistic, but I just prefer to live in hope that it doesn't have to be ALL bad. You know, we hopeless romantics are just so... hopeless.

Glad to see you finally made it here - it gets slightly addictive ;-)

As to season 9 I'm not looking forwards to it. The shows lost its sparkle over the last season and a half and I jsut dont want another X-files or Voyager - they should have wrapped it up at the end of s6 . . .

Well, different strokes for different folks and all that jazz. I can honestly say that I have enjoyed season seven and eight way more than I did season five and six. Judging from my rewatch habits, season five and six get left out in the cold compared to all of the other seasons.

I don't really re-watch unless they come up on telly - s5 was fairly boring, s6 I loved (Jonas yummy!) s7 is airing now and I keep missing it (forgetting, freudien perhaps?) and altho its the first run of 8 on telly having only seen them on squinty so far just havent been paying much attention.
Atlantis I'm willing to give it teething time yet . . .

I am finally back online. My computer works better then it ever has. The shop fixed it for free!!! : )

It is great to read your LJ. I have not been as active in it as I thought I would be. My excuse for the last month has been that I had no computer. I seem to post more in other people LJ's then in my own.

I agree with you. I am WOOHOO!!!!! about Season 9. I have really been enjoying it. Season five/six are not my fave seasons even tho a couple of my fave eps are from them. I am quite excited about ATLANTIS as well. Up here in Canada, I have been watching the new eps. We get them before you guys. : ) I heard they are available on DL. The EYE is a great conclusion to the cliffhanger of THE STORM. The Defiant One and Hot Zone are awesome as well. I just love Mckay and Sheppard!!!

I finally got to dl your vid. I really like it. I love that song by THE CURE. I have quite a few ideas for vids. Now that my system is working the way it should, maybe I will finally get around to making that website I keep mentioning. : )

Hooray!! I am glad to see you back in business! Yes, I finally caved to the Live Journal thing but I still don't like it as much as e-mail and I seem to have even less time for this than I do e-mail.

I am glad you liked the vid. The Vid music awards are going and I decided to just nominate myself...LOL! Be sure to vote when you get the chance. I think you should nominate your Kiss vid but I think it does have to be on a site somewhere.

Whenever I finally get around to my next vid, rest assured it will be a Daniel one. I have this great Linkin Park song I want to make it to but I have a feeling that I need to wait for Threads to air before I make it.

I am looking forward to The Eye as The Storm was positively riveting. However, even though I like Atlantis, thus far I have had no desire to download eps or even rewatch the ones I have taped. I hope that changes for me!

I currently have 11 ideas (five with Daniel)for vids. I have had some of the oddest vid ideas while I was computerless. One idea is Jack centred where he is trying to convince himself that he will get over the fact that Sam has chosen Pete over him. I then have 2 Sam leaves Pete for Jack ideas and one Jack leaves Daniel for Sam. That last one might just be the oddest idea I have ever had. I have thursday off so I should be able to get to working on at least one of these ideas. Or maybe I will work on a website instead. : )

As for Atlantis, I think the last three eps (The Eye, etc) have been really been the best yet. I just love Sheppard, Mckay and Dr.Beckett.

So what Linkin Park song are you thinking of using?
