WOOHOOOOOOO

I did it! I have successfully saved a portion of a DVD as an mpg file and imported it into Movie Maker. Hooray!!!!!!!!!!

Of course, for some reason it only gave me the option of 15 minutes out of one episode but still. There is hope that I will figure it all out! I am elated. (it don't take much...LOL!)

It wasn't the most pleasant of days but this more than made up for it...LOL

I went to the doc for my yearly TSH screening to see if my thyroid medication is doing it's job. Well, it seems that now I have reached the time to get a baseline mammogram age bracket. Yet another milestone! Plus a Lipid panel and a few other nice little blood tests. My doc asked me if I had had a mammogram yet. I said "Not yet". Then he asked me if I did regular breast examinations. I said "well, er, not too regularly". Then he asked me if I had had a Pap test in the last year or so. "Uh, that would be no." I am about ready for the bad nurse award so I decided to just go for the gusto with, "aren't you going to ask me if I have had my dental cleanings every six months cause that is a no as well". But, I know this doc so I guess I can be a bit snarky. He laughed. Gotta love getting older. I suppose it is colonoscopy next. Shudder. One of the many things I have seen done and thought, boy I sure don't want one of those. Although, they do give good drugs I would have to go somewhere were no one knew me. I couldn't bear to have docs and nurses that I know and have worked with involved in sticking a scope up my derriere. Shudder!

And I have decided that I really need to accept that I will never be caught up at work. This is very hard concept for me and it is driving me nuts! Grrrrrrrrrrr.

Congrats on getting the program to work! You should get double points for getting it to work on a dying computer. (((hugs))))

As for check-ups... well we won't go there. My last pap smear was the January after my tubal pregnancy so that makes it 1999. Oy, the rest well skip that too! LOL bad nurse award! Well let's try common sense, I'm just as guilty as you are.

Having a colonscopy by someone you know... Oh so not a nice thought!

I hope all your tests come out fine. Any chance you'll be in chat sometime on friday evening?

Hope to see you soon. Call me sometime

Oh no....not dying computer. New computer that I didn't really want to buy but had to to replace dying computer. So, no double points for me.

As for Friday, what time is good for everyone? I can always watch BG and Atlantis at a later time and come on in to chat.

Oh congrats on the new machine, I didn't know you had taken the plunge :)

I can be on after Atlantis. I'll be watching Joan of Archadia and Third Watch with the old man. Only trouble is I won't have seen Gate so no spoilers.

*ducks from rotten fruit*

Please?

I am excited although I didn't really want to buy a new computer at this time. But, it is nice to not be crashing all the time and freezing up.

And, at least I didn't buy it merely because of my fan related obsess....er, I mean focus. Both my practical side and my frivolous side came out winners this time around.

One good thing is that I have ripped part of that Beyond the gate thing featuring Daniel. Ideas are sprouting. Sigh. However, I am saving my idea(s) for Threads, if it is the ep I think it is going to be..who knows. So, here I am with the new tech and I have to wait to play with it. Maybe I will be inspired with another idea in the meantime. I could always revamp some of the crappy clips in my older vids but, whew, that would be an undertaking! We'll see. And, I have gone on and on haven't I? Sorry! LOL!
