Today feels like the first day of summer, though technically it isn't.  I am happier than a pig in slop about it, I tell ya. ;-)

I love that Brandon is out of school which automatically makes our entire schedule a bit more laid back. We can sleep in, which, for me, isn't quite as late as it used to be, thankfully. Getting off nights helped that. But I just love us getting out and about whenever we feel like it and doing all those summer things.

I love that the days are so much later that it is nothing to be out and about at 8pm.

I love all things watery. Today was our first pool outing for the summer. I love to swim awhile, lay out in the sun awhile, float on the raft awhile. All the while I am thinking, "it doesn't get much better than this!" It also begins my "Summer reading program" courtesy of sitting by the pool with nothing else to distract me. Today I finally began North and South. Interestingly, unlike P&P, which took me a full quarter of the novel to "get in to", N&S seems to have captured my interest from the get-go.

I love summer evenings. I do believe the heat and humidity, already here but not excessive yet, seem to release a lovely woodsy, earthy scent that I love. I can't put my finger on why I oftentimes enjoy that moderate blanket of humidity in the evenings.

Now , off for an evening walk........

I found that passage where he is watching her push her bracelet up and then waiting for it to fall rather va-va voom, if you know what I mean. Weird, huh?

Not weird at all. In fact, check out sonia's similar comment in her post here.

"Being able to get inside their heads," especially Mr. Thorton's, is what I like best about the book.
