 First I want to wish a HAPPY BIRTHDAY (for tomorrow and when am I ever early?) TO scarym1

 

I hope you have a great day and I am glad to hear the package arrived safely. It was supposed to have a card in there as well but, after mailing, I discovered it on the kitchen table. Gah!! 

soniag, I received Slings and Arrows and your lovely card, which gave me as much squee as receiving the DVD's. I am hoping I can start watching this weekend sometime. I did forget, though. Did you want me to send them on to de23or back to you when I am through watching?

It has been a busy month with church, work, Brandon's football games and orthopedic appts. My breakage issues continue....my car door handle broke in half. Now I have to roll the window down to open my door which isn't so bad in and of itself. It's just that I usually forget and turn the car off and then have to restart in order to roll the window down. My toilet is also leaking around the base. I've been in this house almost ten years so it is about time for repair issues to begin. 

Brandon has one more week in his  cast (number six....or is it seven?). So, even though his Birthday is Saturday and I am off that day, he wants to wait till he is castless before having friends over, etc. He had his wires removed last week. Hooray. During that trip it was requested that I have my camera to document the wires protruding from his flesh so that Brandon could take it to school and gross out his friends. I won't do that to my friends because I am a girl I suppose. Here are a few pics from that day. (I couldn't get photobucket to work within LJ for some strange reason?

I finally also got all of the Dragoncon pics uploaded to Shutterfly and I will post a link to that IF anyone is interested in seeing all of them. Or, I can e-mail it to you. I am hoping that once my pig pen house is cleaned today, I can start making a photoalbum.  Actually, I have several I want to make over the course of the month.

Finally watching Heroes. Loving it! I don't have too much to say about it yet, though. Probably because I am at the point where everything is a mystery and I don't even begin to know where to speculate.  Did everyone see Sam's picture of Jack in her box of belongings on Atlantis? I enjoyed that episode far more than I thought I would, though I would have preferred Ronon's decision be somewhat harder to make and not so cut and dried. I know there is a section of fans who dislike Sam altogether and/or dislike that she has come to Atlantis but I have to admit that all of her scenes with the crew on Atlantis were great and left me looking forward to more. She was Sam but a Sam in completely new environment with a completely new set of priorities and responsibilities. I think AT played her uncertainty very well and in such a way as it didn't undermine her authority. Kudos!! Of course the scene with Teal'c brought a lump to my throat. (Stupid sci-fi poopeyheads) Torchwood!!! Did I miss an episode? When did Owen (previously referred to as Mr. Guppy in all of my posts) and Gwen become a HOT item? Sure, that scene in the woods set my pulse racing as did, strangely, the scene where he is digging the buckshot out of her lower abdomen. But it all left me feeling as though I had missed an episode or something. Are they triangulating? (my new made up term for all these shows that have complex and confounding "love interest" triangles) Then, I laughed hysterically at Graham Norton....I've watched twice, this time because Ioan Gruffudd was a guest and before because David Tennant was a guest but I think I'm just gonna keep on recording because I laughed like a mad woman all the way through, even though I don't really normally like these sorts of guest star talk shows. I thought the last episode of Bionic Woman was a bit better and I warmed a teensy bit to the characters. However, I'm almost seeing Kyle XY parallels with what I (prematurely) think they are trying to do.

Great pictures!!!

Glad S&A made it okay. I did warn you about the bad language in it, right? I hope that's not a problem. At its heart, it's a very sweet show.

TORCHWOOD!!! I've been dying for someone to discuss this with! Did you miss the Cyberwoman ep? 'Cause that's where Gwen and Owen had their first kiss. I was waiting to see the fallout from that -- and BOY DID THEY COME THROUGH. I've watch their scenes together in "Countrycide" twice now. I never thought I'd find Mr Guppy sexy, but he has that bad boy quality that is my WEAKNESS!

And I'm still in mild shock over their conversation in the woods and the sort of dialogue that BBCAmerica cuts or keeps in its broadcasts. With all they allow, I still don't understand why they cut "hard-on" from the Cyberwoman ep. (I am babbling.) The point is, the stuff Owen was saying to Gwen in the woods -- shocking but very sexy. My wig flipped a few times during that scene.

And it seemed to me that during the intense moments between Owen and Gwen, Jack is thinking "why am I not the center of sexy anymore?" And does Tosh have a thing for Owen?

Well, I saw Cyberwoman but I suppose I was either too catatonic to really know what I was seeing or too distracted by the contortions of Ianto's face. I was shocked at the content of their conversation even while I was moving forward to the edge of me seat in that "oh, Wow...this is something!" kind-of way. We just don't hear that sort of talk every day now do we. Well, actually, I never hear that sort of talk but I meant on TV LOL. I got the same vibe from Jack! Poor dear, even if he is the center of sexy he sortof got upstaged by Mr. Guppy, of all people. Still, who would have though Mr.Guppy could be sexy. The more sexier the merrier, I always say ;-) I got the impression that Tosh did have a thing for Owen. However, during this part, I had to actually put on the CC as I just could not get the gist of the campsite conversation.

Good to hear that B is nearing the end of his cast time. i'm sure he's thrilled. Two things struck me about the photos.

1. Absolutely gorgeous. I love sunset photos!

2. B is looking so grown up and the older he gets the more of you I see. I'm sure he would be thrilled no end about that. Heh, the advantage of living very far away!

I love water and sky photos. Yesterday, a friend of mine along with Brandon were on the way to Paris (TN...LOL) and I captured some really nice photos of the suns rays cutting through the clouds. The previous evening we had a lightening show the likes I'm not sure I have ever seen. I mean, it was constant and quite eerie as it was north of me so the sky overhead was starlit and clear. I took several pics then as well trying to overcome the dark/light confusion by using hi iso and aperture priority. Some of them turned out OK.

Cool you finally gave into Heroes. ; ) Are you up to date with the current eps or are you just getting started?

What ep of Torchwood are you at? It looks like you guys are way ahead of Canada. S1 just started airing here and so far I have only seen the first couple of eps but I am really enjoying. I might have to start dling it just to get caught up.

Eeeek! I just watched the episode where we discover that Nathan is the cheerleader's father!! At first, somehow, I thought it would be Christopher Eccleston's invisible man.

Hummmm....Now my take on the "Save the cheerleader, save the world." isn't necessarily that by saving her the world was saved but that by Peter saving her, he somehow is set upon the path to saving the world, instead of destroying it as he believes he will. Or maybe he rallies everyone else in some way. Who knows, it's so convuluted, there's no way of knowing what is going to happen next so anything I say is mere conjecture on my part. Anyhoo, I'd discuss this as a main post but since the series has moved on and I am behind the times, I thought I just post to you instead since I think you may be the only other person on my friends list who watches this. However, I highly recommend it!

I have been recording the current eps but I think I missed a few of the initial ones. Wonder how I am going to watch those. DL perhaps? Itunes?

No spoilage please, even though I am dying to know more....

I thought the ones of the bridge/train tracks turned out really well. I am behind at the present time, having not watched the current SGA or Bionic Woman. But, the pleasure of that is that you always have something to look forward to watching.
