How sad is it that the tiny, insignificant act of booking a room brings back fond travel memories. Once more, I wish to be independently wealthy so I can travel all over the place and take my friends with me...LOL!

I paid a whopping $244 to discover that Sammie, the dog, is about a year old and very healthy. And I haven't even had her fixed yet!?! Having an electronic fence installed would cost $750 so now I waffle over aesthetics versus economics. Of course, I have no idea what a chain link fence would cost but I suspect it would be less. A fence is a must, though, so a decision has to be made. I am sure that my income tax return will make it somewhat easier. Still, never having owned a dog, my practical side is aghast!  All this cash for Little Orphan Mutt.

I did replace the heat pump today. While I am sure my electric bill will demonstrate a positive effect, it was no fun forking over the moolah. All of these issues make me really paranoid. As I am taking a shower in the morning, I tend to think, "wonder when the hot water heater is going to go?" While doing the dishes, I ponder whether the dishwasher going to make it much longer. It would seem that I am more of a fan of home improvement over home maintenance or else I'd be posting pics of the new heat pump.

I am glad Sammie is healthy. I wonder why someone would abandon her like that. How is your cat adapting to the new member of the household?

You should post a pic of Sammie.

LOL! I love your icon. Can I swipe it?

I will post a pic at some point. Cat and Dog keep their distance from one another. Sammie is afraid of her, though she doesn't know it.

I think you'll discover that the investment is well worth the joy you'll get from having a dog.

And if prices are the same as when I looked a few years ago? The electric one will be cheaper than a chain link.

As for the pondering of impending homeowner doom? I do that all the time! It is apparently about to happen to me since I just spent the bulk of my savings on painting the house. (But it looks SO good!)

Yes, that is the way it usually goes but your paint job looks fabulous.

I am surprised to hear that electric is cheaper than chain link but someone else told me that as well. I love it that I now always have a walking partner.
