Yesterday was a lovely day. The first trip to Paris Landing/pool always marks the first day of summer for me, no matter what the calendar says! The temps were in the 80's and the water was just a tad shy of being too cold to swim in. I was totally unprepared since I usually pack drinks and snacks. (water and soda from the machines there is up to $1.50!! However the pool prices have remained unchanged for years. At $3 per person, it is still one of the most inexpensive activities going). It was nice to walk somewhere different and I hope the change in scenery spices up my weekly exercise routine. I certainly find getting into the pool after a great motivating reward.  Most of my walk has an up close view of the Tennessee River and there is always a breeze, even in the melting heat of summer. Brandon usually just goes on in while I make my trek. He has sure been busy, lately. He'll be spending the night at a friends house when another friend will call wanting him to come over. Last night there was a lock-in at the local Nazarene church, which "totally owned" our own church's lock-in by all reports. He never did sleep and so is currently napping. How telling is the idea that I have no desire to stay up all night!  Is that a true sign of age? I have decided that the social life of a teen is designed to get a parent ready for that whole empty nest thing! By the time he leaves home, I should be used to him not being around all the time, right? ;-) With summer and the periods of Brandonlessness come a small measure of time to read more. Wednesday, I started and completed Night by Nobel Peace Prize winner,Elie Wiesal. which definitely left a lasting impression. Yesterday I read more of The Historian, which I hope and suspect might become a page turner,  despite a somewhat plodding beginning.

But, I don't always sit around at home when he is gone. Recently, a couple of friends from work and I went to The Tennessee Renaissance Festival.

 Cat pointing the way. ;-)

Jill (left) and Cat (right) at the Washing Wenches show.

And me, borrowing Cat's head attire so as to look more authentic. The theme was Pirates weekend and Jill really looked the part. So much so, that one of the pirate clad vendors kept hitting on her....LOL.

One of the Washing Wenches...the other had gone to get more beer. I just love the hair!

More pics from the show. Not the most flattering pic of the other Washing Wench (The legs in the third pic ) I think even her partner is astounded!

Cat decided that she was a "Medieval pimp"

It's a lovely day for some jousting.

The guy sitting next to us, who also seemed to be hitting on Jill, began describing certain parts of the "Knight's" attire. Only Jill was really listening until I heard the word "Heart Block" to which the nurse in me could only think, "Mobitz type one or type two?"

*snort*That roasted corn certainly looks yummy!

 "I'll save you!"

They are at it again! Cat decided that these wenches have the perfect job.

I was going to post the house pics I promised but I can't seem to get that whole photobucket paste thing to work....It seems self explanatory but I can't get it to work. Suggestions?

Sorry I was online for a chat last night. I decided to watch TV instead. Abyss was on the SPACE CHANNEL. That ep still gets me. Excellent stuff.

Why are your vid days over? Is it because of No inspiration? For me sometimes I will just open up WMM and go thru the song I have imported but haven't used yet. I also have lots of Vids on Window Media player that I watch quite often. Watching SG1 daily on the SPACE

I would love to see you finish the Mitchell/Critchon vid.

This got posted before I was finished. I hate computers sometimes. I meant to say sorry I wasn't online last night. How about tonight?

Watching SG1 daily on the SPACE CHANNEL helps keep me in a SG1 frame of mind.

Well must get back to work. I am late already.

It isn't so much no inspiration as it is lack of time to play, though I have time today, it seems. Another problem I have (with the Mitchell Crichton vid) is that I do need more Farscape and Mitchell Gate clips and I can't rip at the moment since the old computer died and took with it the ability to rip DVD's, though I did manage to save the 1Click program on disc even though I wasn't sure it would be compatible with Vista. When I bought a new computer, all I bought was the CPU part as my monitor still worked. Then, a month ago, the monitor went up in a puff of smoke...literally! Since the laptop is running well (for the moment), I haven't really purchased a new monitor for the other computer. So, I might have the time to work on a vid here and there if I had everything I needed already. However, the time needed to install the old program onto the laptop, work out the kinks, rip a bunch of new episodes, and then import them into WMM is too much at the moment. As for your issues with WMM, WMM periodically dumps your collection for no apparent reason. I have two versions of movie maker on this computer because I can't make vids from my camera recordings with the newer version of WMM. I can import the clips from my camera and watch them within the program but it will never render video for watching. If I decide to use the old program, my collections are dumped from the new version and vice versa. There is a way to make a backup of your collection and restore it. However, when I did it, I had no problem backing up the collection but I could never get it to restore. This was with XP...haven't tried it with Vista.
