Well, who ever heard of having a Saturday start date for classes? Bizarre and it seems that the instructors are waiting till Monday , too. I can't do much, though, as my books haven't arrived (at Mom's because of Sammie, the dog who will eat everything). I'm not looking forward to hitting the books again as I have enjoyed not having it to do.

Last night's Atlantis was a real gut clencher. From the first mention of The Shrine, I knew how we were getting out of this mess but it didn't matter to me as this one was all about character and I certainly loved all the character moments. Fortunately for me, I am not as familiar with brain surgery so I wouldn't notice very many medical improbabilities. Atlantis hasn't grabbed me in quite the way SG-1 did, but I am still sorry to hear about it's cancellation. I'll never understand the mentality where cancellation of shows are concerned because it seems that Atlantis ratings have only improved this season. I would be excited about the new SG series, Universe, if not for the description given at "creating a younger vibe" (or something to that effect). They want young people, especially that young male demographic. They still don't realize how much old women like me spend on this stuff...LOL. Some fans are dismissing the whole thing out of hand, as disgruntled people often do, but I will give the new show a go with the hope that we aren't looking at Stargate: 90210. (Shudder!)

I just watched The SHRINE and am sitting here with tears in my eyes.

So much lovely teamyness, John and Rodney Friendship
(that pier scene was so moving), McKay/Keller (He loves her) and Jeannie. All my fave things!!!!!!!!! When I have had more time to digest it, I might just have to right a long rambling post about it.

The cancellation sucks but at least it will go on in another format. At least that is what I keep telling myself. I am trying to find the positive side in the whole deal.

I am worried about the whole younger vibe with SGU. I guess we will all have to wait and see.

As for SGU? I'm always willing to give it a shot. And while it made me nervous at first, I'm going to chalk up the "younger vibe" comment to Hollywood spinmeisters and try to put it out of my mind.
