Work and Play

Well, I got loads done yesterday on my annotated bib but this morning my drive has driven away. Really, I am only good from 12pm to 6pm. That is when I get the most work done, though yesterday I was able to be productive from 10 to 6. That's 8 hours right? Then why do I feel guilty about not getting more done?? It seems weird that I am neither a morning person nor a night person...LOL. Maybe when the time changes and we see more sun I'll be able to extend my productivity. I am learning that my motivation and energy level is directly proportional to the amount of sun light I receive. I'm solar powered!!
Today, however, I am going to do an afternoon at the clinic to get some more hours and perhaps I will have some residual energy when I come home afterwards. I was really excited to do a perfect pap, especially when the one before that was a complete fiasco. WORST. ONE. EVER. But, on the bright side, it is going to become one of those funny stories I tell.... I was also quite excited when Dr. B let me do some suturing in the ED the other day when we had one of those patients who is up for that sort of thing. I even had the patient giving me pointers. Heee. Dr. B is the best! I wish I could work for him when all is said and done.
I watched as much Fringe as netflix would allow but I am still too far behind to just start watching the current season. Same goes for the Mentalist. So, I have my DVR set to record all these shows that I can't even watch, yet. I am running out of HD space! They need to release some seasons. Soon!
I started watching Big Bang Theory and that show is absolutely hysterical!!! Sheldon totally cracks me up even when he isn't saying or doing anything. I thought about a few of my friends (you know who you are) when they go to the Renaissance festival and Sheldon is wearing period linen underwear and upset about historical inaccuracy at the event and refusing to go back. Of course, the solution of having him go as Spock exploring a planet with a culture similar to Earth's during that time period had me FALLING OUT ON THE FLOOR!!
Chuck is still AWESOME! I so loved the last ep when Morgan found out the truth. It was time and I loved the way they did it.
And Lost. So sad that Sayid and Sawyer appear to have gone all dark side. Still, at least they are ramping things up. It warmed my heart to see Ben do the right thing. (I guess. They are liable to completely turn the tables but at the moment I see Jacob as the good guy and Smoke Monster Locke as the bad guy.) As for which "candidate" takes charge of the island, at the moment I only see Jack or Hurley doing it in the end. Still, alot can happen in the next 10 eps.
And, I finally got to see the movie, TTW. I had heard that it was total crap but I didn't see that, maybe because I went into it thinking that it might be total crap. I think they skimmed over the parts where Henry visits Claire during her childhood quite a bit but they included enough for you to get the gist. As far as books to screen go, I think the screenplay captured most of the important bits. (Of course, it has been quite some time since I read the book and I have probably forgotten much) I do think there was something missing in the beginning that I can't put my finger on that made it difficult to engage with the characters but, as time went on, I "caught up". Of course, that may be due to me liking Eric Bana...LOL.

Can't say I'm following any of the same shows you are. Although I have watched the occassional ep of Big Bang Theory and I enjoyed it. I just forget when it's on. Personally, I'm waiting for the return of In Plain sight on March 31st. In addition to the other shows I'm still following. You and my mom would have a grand time chatting about The Mentalist. Simon Baker is her boy LOL.
Maybe we can touch base sometime next week? Let me know what your schedule is like.

Date: 2010-03-13 01:48 am (UTC)LOL re: your mom and Simon Baker. You can't help but love him! I feel I have waited for ages to watch. They really need to work out some sort of DVD release schedule that will allow one to catch up to the current season. (That or make all my available record time HD record time)
I would love to touch base and the end of next week might be good. I have something big every week and next Wednesday it is the mid-term.

Date: 2010-03-12 05:58 pm (UTC)LOST is made of awesome. : ) I think the story arc for Ben so far has been amazing. Who would have thought that one day we would be feeling sorry for Ben? Great acting and writing. Sayid and Claire just break my heart. I have a feeling that Sawyer hasn't totally gone darkside yet.
Some great stuff coming up on FRINGE. I hope you get to watch it all soon.

Date: 2010-03-13 01:52 am (UTC)I KNOW! There are times when I am laughing so hard I can't even catch my breath.
I am irritated by my Fringe delay. I found a couple of season two eps online but the next time I went to watch, they had already been shut down. I really wish some of these other networks would have catch up marathons like SyFy does. That is one area they do well.
I am with you on Sawyer but he has alot of hatred for Jack right now, too.

Date: 2010-03-12 07:13 pm (UTC)And Chuck! Morgan is going to be a hilarious addition to the Scooby Gang. I can see thins going all sorts of fun places.
And Big Bang is AWESOME! I'm also a recent devotee and am thrilled that I can still work my way through "new" episodes when others who have watched from the beginning have to wait.

Date: 2010-03-13 01:55 am (UTC)YES, there are quite a few ways they can handle this.
Glad to see we are both recent devotees to BBT. Netflix needs to speed up the turnaround time!!

Date: 2010-03-14 04:15 am (UTC)We watched TTW the other night too. I didn't think it was bad - but since I read the book so recently it was more like I was watching highlights from it than a self-contained movie. They left out so much, I have no idea how it would come across if you hadn't read the book first. I think I was most disappointed that they didn't show more of her teenage years - like when he beat up that guy she went on a date with.

Date: 2010-03-14 03:47 pm (UTC)LOL! It seems that I have been going forever, which I have. Too bad I wasn't financially secure enough to just quit work and go full time from the beginning! I know I do whine overmuch about it but it is probably due to length of time I have been at it!
I did manage to get the annotated bib part I done which I am sure will be totally covered in the proverbial "red" ink when she gives me feedback but, hey, at least this professor posts lectures in the form of ppt and interactive learning activities AND gives feedback so she is a step up from the professor I had for my previous two FNP classes.
Now, I get to spend the day reading and studying for the mid-term next week and I feel I just don't retain the way I used to. Plus I am incredibly lazy here lately. (It's been rainy and cold again and hibernation mode has set back in....)
