It has been supremely wonderful waking up in the morning with no assignments, no clinical, no studying, and no tests. Sure, I can't go the whole summer like this because I need to start preparing for the certification exam that I will take next year but a week or so of slackerdom shouldn't be too bad, right?

Brandon has a friend who has invited him to Florida with them! Lucky kid. Still, this will be the first time that he has traveled that far without me. I can see how worrying and difficulty letting go is going to increase exponentially over the next few years. I am not a clingy parent but I do tend to worry a wee bit partly because the-nothing-bad-can-happen bubble was punctured long ago and partly because I work in the ED where you see all sorts of crazy stuff. I have already given both boys the have fun but be mindful of the ocean speech....LOL. It is good that his friend's stepmom is a nurse.

There has been no school for the entire week due to road conditions in the county. I hope they don't have to make this up. Since Brandon is supposed to leave for Florida the day school is out for the summer, it could impact these travel plans.

The satellite is out. I don't know why. The storms blew through over the weekend but the weather has been nice since. Still, I suppose something could have become dislodged during the storm. I am fortunate to have this be the only (potential) repercussion. That and the liklihood that my walking trail may be completely washed away when the waters recede. I already missed Lost and will miss tonight's Fringe, which I was REALLY looking forward to. I wonder how long it takes after the ep has aired to show up online? Would the next day be too much to ask...LOL.

Hooray for freedom! And for Florida! But I do understand how hard it is to let go. (Heck, my boys still haven't even spent the night away from us that wasn't with my folks.)

Anyway, we're hoping for no make up school days too, but it's up to the state, apparently.

I have 3 Doctor who eps saved up for you. Should I just mail you a dvd?

Yay for Doctor Who. You could mail if you want or maybe we can find some time to get together.

BTW, how did the LASIK visit go?

Are you free any next week? Maybe we could have lunch at the Cabin.

LASIK is a go. Surgery on May 19th. I really liked the doctor and all the staff. I'm on eye drops now as he diagnosed me with "moderate" dry eyes. My eyes were worn out after the dilation and numbing drops and a gazillion different bright lights and tests.

I am free from Wednesday on through the rest of the week. I am sure that I will need to add a day to my schedule here and there (since I am getting low on funds trying to save and pay that crap COBRA premium) but I don't really want to...LOL. (Especially since I'm PRN and, thus, have no vacation time. My days off will have to serve as "vacation". Yeah, it's what I keep trying to tell myself.)

I wondered if that horrible weather would wash away the trail you took me on. That would be a real shame. it's such a pretty area!

I can get you download links for Lost and Fringe. The former is already uploaded. They are megaupload. Let me know if you want them.

Yes, it will be a shame as the water covers most of the trail. We'll see. Maybe it won't be as bad as I am thinking it will be.

I'd love those links. Technician is supposed to come tomorrow to fix it.
