I don't think I recall ever going this long as a homebody. Seriously, it has been a few weeks and, still, I haven't wanted to leave my house unless I have to. Have I had a secret recluse deep down inside just yearning to get out (and stay home)? Mom says that it will all change once the pool opens. I hope she is right though I cannot deny that I have enjoyed this solitude somewhat. (Brandon left for Florida yesterday)

Some highlights of my day did include a nice walk as we are between rainstorms again. It has rained most of the week! Was I relocated to a rainforest and no one told me? Even so, the water was down today and the mud stench didn't make me retch.

I have had great fun discussing the season finale of Fringe here, finishing up The Last Enchantment, crying over a man's reunion with a gorilla, watching The Last Dragonlord (Again!), finishing up laundering the Himalaya of towels I found in Brandon's closet (three loads!), and reading fanfic since I can't get beyond the first step in that 12-step program.

I have to work tomorrow so I will have no choice but to leave my house.

I loved that clip with the Gorilla and his comments on The Today show. Very touching. So much emotion on the Gorilla's face, as well as the man's. Amazing.

Considering how hard you've worked in the last few years I'm really glad you got some down time!

D is off to NYC on Thursday. Gods, don't we feel old!

Well, I suppose we have no choice but to feel as old as our children think us..LOL.

I will relay a recent conversation between Brandon and me.

Brandon: (after going to a recent concert of a band called Bullet for my Valentine, of whom I've never heard) "Do you think we could go to a Linkin Park concert sometime?"

Me: "Well, you know I like Linkin Park and wouldn't mind seeing them in concert but I wonder if I am getting too old for that sort of thing" (See where I set myself up.)

Brandon: "Oh, there were alot of old people at Bullet for my Valentine"

Me: "Are you saying that I am old"

Brandon: "Well there were all kinds of people your age" (Note how he never did deny that he considered me old.)

ROTFL! Oh yeah, you walked right into that one. R is actually more keen to remind me of my age lately. Since my birthday she delights in walking by and whispering "Middle aged" Little twerp!
