Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] de23 , I was finally able to catch up with the Doctor and I have to say that I really enjoyed the second part of the series even more than the first.  Of course, since I have watched the load of them over the past two days, I'm afraid I can't be more in depth than:

"Oh, I like Rory!"

"Sob! Poor Rory"

"Yay, Rory!"

"Oh no! Not Rory, too" and finally

"Aww, Rory. I <3 you!!"

Other bits I loved included the nod to Jules Vern (at least it seemed very Journey to the Center of the Earth -ish even if there was an allusion to past Who history I'm not privy too), the always engaging ancillary characters (except those vampire girls), the Doctor playing soccer(football, whatever) and the awesome River Song!

Trying to think what the who history bit was, but can't for the life of me, I'll have to rewatch the episode and see if I can remember.
The ole Docs been to the centre of the earth a few times now, and as its made up of some weird spider creature (the christmas special with Donna as the bride) its a good job theres alot of room down there. Strangely thats only just occured to me.....
Who, its just fab, mmmmm David Tennant yum

Yes, I remember the spider creature but didn't realize it was that far down. Must be a bit overcrowded down there, then. ;-)

Yes, Who is fab even if I haven't watched all of the eps that were ever made. I did start once but it just seemed this HUGE endeavor.

I enjoyed the second part better then the first as well. It took me a bit to get used to the New Doctor.

I thought adding Rory to the show was great. As much as I love the relationship between Rose and the Doctor, I do prefer the Doctor's companions to be just friends and not always having some unrequited love for him.

River Song is so fascinating but I don't have a good feeling about her.

Yes, he can't have all of the companions falling madly in love with him. Still, how can they not have crushes on him as he is a larger than life character. Donna was one who was able to hold her own with him.

River Song is fascinating but it seems there is gonna be some sort of drama there. Just trying to keep up with her timeline compared to his is a job since it is so asynchronous. Oh well, that's time travel for ya.

I had to totally keep myself from saying "I love Rory!" any time we mentioned Who because I didn't want to spoil it for you. I was afraid they were making Amy either a Donna copy (runaway bride and all that) and then a Rose copy (the whole Mickey/Rory parallel), but I think they navigated it quite nicely. The way Eleven treats Amy's advances can be seen as a return to a more Classic Who sensibility, but I like to think we're also seeing the Doctor's lessons learned from Rose (and Sarah Jane). He doesn't want her to become too dependent on him for her own sake -- she should have her own life to go back to. And how awesome is it that marriage isn't and end to the adventures (as in so many tv shows and always on Whe before) but just another step along the road. Whee! I need Eleventy icons!

LOL, that is cute. I am glad you kept me spoiler free for my own good. It's hard when we all aren't watching at the same time.

I love that them getting married didn't end the adventure. I should have listed that as one of the bits!

I need Eleventy icons, too.
